KING JAMES
"James"
1983 - 1992
James was a great, regal, loyal, loving protector that lived to work cows and adored my dad, Grant Dobbs.  There was never a place that dad went that James was not allowed to go to, as well.
James logged many a trailing hour in the deserts of Northern Nevada, Central Idaho, and Eastern Oregon.  He not only packed a great workload when it came to the cattle, and handled his jobs effortlessly, but he also was a lifesaver to his human co-workers on more than one occasion.  For that, all that knew him will forever be grateful and will always admire his strength, will, loyalty, and ability.
"James"
In 1992, James began to have weakness in his back end and difficulty standing and walking.  He was taken to the vet in Weiser, Idaho and x-rays were taken and tests were run.  The tests were all inconclusive, but it was believed that James had possibly rolled in a dead porcupine on the ranch and gotten a quill in his spinal cord.  The quill had dissolved, but not before it wreaked havoc on James' body and caused complete paralysis in his back legs.
James was made as comfortable as possible for a couple of weeks, but the pain in his heart and in dad's was evident when the truck or the tractor would start up and James would attempt to drag himself out to go with dad.
James and Kayann
We finally had to make that dreaded and painful decision to have him put to rest.
We know that James is watching over all of us and keeping the cattle in line in heaven.
Many dogs have entered our lives throughout the years, but there has never been and never will be another "JAMES".  He is dearly missed!
