Upcoming Litters
With the succcesses of our last litter, both achieved and pending, it's hard not to look forward to our next. The time, expense, and just plain work involved with producing dogs of quality has us ready for a break though and we've got allot of catching up to do before we can conduct the next breeding.
The first thing that needs to be addressed is my gratitude to Lorene Wilson of Sierra Staffs for giving us the opportunity to use the stud that I've had my eye on for the past two years. CH. Sierra's Bold as Brass (Boomer) will sire our next litter out of Rockin' M's Lemonade (Little Bit). The breeding will take place after Little Bit finishes her title which we are confident she can do within the year provided we're able to get to the shows.
Both pedigrees go back to the original Ruffian/Expert cross that was made by Peggy Harper in the late fifties or early sixties. That cross produced CH. Sky King of Har-Wyn, which is one of the most influential dogs in Amstaff history. Sky King was the grandfather to CH. Tryarr's Diamondback Redbolt who is the top producing sire of all time in our breed. Redbolt shows up only four generations back on Little Bit's pedigree and his littermate Tryarr's Satin Doll shows up four generations back on Boomer's side. Within six generations Redbolt or his genetic equivalent appears eleven times.
Even the outcrosses used in the development of this breeding are from outstanding stock. CH. Hines's Sly Stallone was used to produce Little Bit's sire. Sly is out of a stud called CH. Bar-Gray's Lucifer Sun (Luke). Luke is one of the winningest Staffs of all time and, in fact, rivaled the record of CH. Ruffian Red Rock of Har-Wyn.
I'll have more information on the Boomer/Little Bit cross later, but for now I'm just excited to have the opportunity to do this. I anticipate dogs of historic proportion.
