- 2002 – 3 months voluntary teaching of Visual Basic 6 to A-level students which formed part of their AVCE ICT course.
- 2004 – 4 months voluntary work to assisting a 6th form student with his ICT coursework ranging from programming to presenting information for business’s.
- 2001 - One-week work experience at South Shields I-tech helping to teach other students in classes. Teaching consisted of spreadsheet, Internet technologies and presentational skills.

Team working:
- While working at Morrison’s I worked in a team, often alternating roles, from a General Assistant to taking charge of a limited range of management duties.
- Teaching Visual Basic 6 on a voluntary basis at George Stephenson High School meant I had to co-ordinate my efforts with other members of staff
Communication skills:
- As manager of ICT for ASF it is vitally important that I communicate to its employees effectively to ensure correct development of databases
- While teaching Visual Basic 6 I produced handouts, online documentation and recommended reading for students
- Participated in many school and UNN presentations ranging from Historical facts on the Ottoman Empire at school to Networking at UNN
Ability to pick up new skills:
- Working with ASF I have learned to take a systematic and methodical approach to my work
- While working at Morrison’s I have learned good organisational skills and time management to complete my job within the specified deadline.
- Was commended by my ICT teacher for learning Visual Basic 6 on my own
- I enjoy running, basketball, mountain biking and squash. I also enjoy listening to a variety of music and have recently started learning how to play the guitar. In my spare time I often update my personal web site found at www.adamsexton.tk and socialise with my friends.
