Jesse

(also Jessy, Jessie, Jessi) Japanese Name: Musashi
Voice Actor: Rachel Lillis
Age: 17 in "The Ultimate Test," currently about 18
Pokémon: Arbok and Lickitung (also had a Shellder in "The Evolution Solution")

Jesse grew up in a poor family in Sunnytown. In the Japanese CD-ROM her mother was a famous Team Rocket member named Miyamoto and was sent by Giovanni's mother, Madam Boss, to find a Mew, but she was caught in an avalanche and was never heard from again. Jesse attended Pokémon Tech with James, and after breaking the record for lowest test score, joined a bike gang with James and became known as "Chainer Jess." Jesse has a habit of hitting the other two with an arsenal of mallets, fans, frying pans, etc., and even used her hair as a weapon in "Beach Blank-Out Blastoise."

James

Japanese Name: Kojiro or Kojirou
Voice Actor: Ted Lewis in the first 10 episodes, Eric Stuart
Age: Currently about 18
Pokémon: Weezing and Victreebel (former trainer of Growlithe and Magikarp)

James also grew up in Sunnytown, but in a wealthy family. After being betrothed to Jezebelle, he ran away and met Jesse in Pokémon Tech. After they both flunked out, they joined a bike gang in which he earned the nickname "Trainer James," because he wasn't able to ride a bike without training wheels. Even though it's clear that he wants to be rich, he'd rather have his freedom. James' strange habits include whining and crossdressing. His strangest disguises can be found in the banned episode "Holiday in Acapulco" and "The Misty Mermaid."

Meowth

Japanese Name: Nyaasu, Nyase, Nyarth
Voice Actor: Addie Blaustein
Age: Unknown

Meowth is second only to Jesse for having the saddest history of the three. After being abandoned as a kitten, he headed to Hollywood, joined a Meowth gang led by a Persian, and fell in love with a female Meowth named Meowzy (JN-Madonna), but she didn't like him because he was a stray and "wasn't even human." To impress her, Meowth taught himself to walk and talk and then went back to her, but she called him a "walking, talking, freak Meowth." He later left Hollywood to join Team Rocket as Giovanni's Top Cat, but was replaced by a Persian early in the series.

Butch and Cassidy

Japanese names: Kosaburu and Yamoto
Voice Actors: Unknown
Ages: 17 or 18
Pokémon: Raticate and Drowzee

So little is known about these two that I've combined them into one section. They've only made two appearances, both times being taken off to jail at the end. Cassidy used to be friends with Jesse. Some say it was in the bike gang and others say it was in school. Even less is know about Butch (except he needs to see a doctor about that laryngitis! ^_^

Giovanni

Japanese Name: Sakaki
Voice Actor: Ted Lewis
Age: Unknown
Pokémon: Umm... lots of them. Mewtwo is the most well-known.

Giovanni's character is one of the most mysterious. Up until the Viridian City episode, he was only shown in the shadows, and his voice was altered. In the Japanese CD-ROM, it tells that he inherited Team Rocket from his mother during the Mew mission.

Mondo

Voice Actor: Unknown
Age: Unknown, but younger than Jesse and James
Pokémon: Ditto and Tauros

Mondo is a character that currently exists only in the CD-ROM. He is one of the youngest Team Rocket members who follows Jesse and James everywhere and gets them out of trouble. He has a crush on Jesse and adores Meowth, even temporarily trading his Ditto for the cat.

Miyamoto and Madame Boss

These characters also exist only in "A White Tomorrow." Miyamoto is Jesse's mother, and Madame Boss is Giovanni's. Miyamoto was sent by Madame Boss to capture a Mew, but was supposedly killed in an avalanche. Shortly after this mission, Giovanni took over Team Rocket.
