Richie was wearing a new jacket! - This wasn't just any old jacket, it was the coolest jacket I have ever seen!! - It was Orange, blue and green snakeskin and must have cost a fortune! - Richie shon while playing his greatest hit, "Stranger in this town"! He put his heart and soul into it and played that guitar and sung with feeling and passion. Jon made a few costume changes, firstly he wore his black leather trousers with his denim jacket, next he wore his black leather biker jacket. then he changed into his plain back leather biker jacket. lastly, he wore a blue Giants shirt with a diamonte No1 on it which sparkled brightly and beautifully. Jon seemed to be loving every minute of the show and proudly told the crowd "This is my house, this is my house tonight"! He stopped a few times and just looked out, taking it all in, seemingly overwhelmed by it all. They had made it again! - All that hard work and effort had paid off and they were back on top where they belonged. Just 8 months ago, they were playing at the Meadowlands Arena, Jon told the sold out crowd "We'll be back next year, across he road"! - I didn't want to believe him for fear of being disappointed if it didn't happen. However, I should have kept the faith and believed, coz he was telling the truth!!!! - By Donna Butler.
BON JOVI ROCK GIANTS STADIUM! - New Jersey July 27th & 28th 2001
We had great seats from the fan-club trip the first night, Second row, almost centre stage!! (The trip wasn't cheap we paid the price, but worth every penny!) They used the European stage set which depicted the Empire State building. The lighting really stands out with this set! - The lighting director and his wooby did a fantastic job!!! Did anyone notice the dark curtains at the sides of the stage which had lots of little lights on them? Looked really cool and greatly extended the stage. These shows were the pinnacle of Bon Jovi's careers, they had all their family and freinds there, (We heard 1000 guests a peice!!) the fanclub, fans from all over the world. The stress factor leading up to them must have been incredible. However, once they hit that stage they could release and just play and sing their hearts out. The first show rocked! - The guys were so happy and the show seemed to fly by! I wish it could've lasted longer. The glow stick thing during Wanted worked well and looked fantastic! At one point, Jon callled Richie over and told him to look as he pointed to the back centre of the stadium! I looked around and everyone was up on their feet and clapping! - It was incredible! - You don't often see that it the USA, compared to the European shows. The guys didn't stop smiling throughout! Especially Jon. He was grinning from ear to ear the whole time. "Keep the Faith" was the highlight for me. It was just one of the best versions I had seen & heard! - They really got into the song and gave it everything. "Just Older" was really cool too. When Jon said "I still believe I'm just".... the crowd roared - Jon loved it! Another surprise was "Always"!!! They haven't played that one enough these past two tours and it was a welcome addition. It wasn't on the set-list, or even an audible! Jon just decided to do it at the last minute instead of "I'll be there for you"! During "I got the girl" Jon said "I'm home Steph, do you wanna do the twist we me?!!!"
