To this day the band have always said that one of their all time
favourite venues is Wembley Stadium.  They have played there
several times so far throughout their 20 year career and will
no doubt be back again some day!

Richie actually said to me whilst in Sweden, that it was the
pinnacle of the tour and they  were looking forward to it very
much!  They were to play at the world famous stadium in
England for the fourth and fifth time and as if that wasnt
enough of a confirmation as to just how massive the band is,
they were also to be the last act to ever perform there before
it's temporary demise!

The penultimate Wembley show was simply rocking and the
highlights for me were when the guys were filmed walking
from the dressing room to the stage!
They kicked off the show with a great rendition of
"London Calling" by the Clash. The night seemed to fly by!
The band were load and proud, as were the crowd.

The next morning, as soon as we dragged ourselves out of bed it was time to get ready for the show of the decade!
The Weather was on it's best behaviour the whole weekend which was a bonus!
The 80,000 capacity crowd got there early to reminisce about the good times
they had experiened sometime before, in this historic stadium.
When England won the world cup in 1966,  it was here that it happened and the
British people loved that! They wont ever let anyone forget the time that the
England football team reined victorious, that year!

There was something in the air that night, exightment, adrenelin maybe, but for sure a thing that only you know how it feels but you cant explain it!
The atmosphere was incredible and we enjoyed the anticipation as to what was
to come.  Toploader played a great set and were honoured to be the last British
act to play there.
It was finally time for the guys to hit the stage and the crowd went wild! -
The cheers and adulation were overwhelming.  All the hits flowed freely and
the guys were loving every minute of it!  Jon took out his disposable camera
and was taking photo's of his band mates, then he pointed it to the crowd! -
The noise was deafening as people cheered, whooped and clapped.
Then last but not least, he pointed the lens at the front row and cheerily snapped away once more!  (He has since confessed that he has a photo of the unsurpassed crowd on his computer!)
Bon Jovi rocks Wembley Stadium -
August 19th & 20th 2000.
The encores sneaked  up on us and I thought to myself that it cant be nearly over,
it just cant!  That thought left as quickly as it had come as the first very familiar
chords to the anthemic Wanted Dead Or Alive prompted Jon to walk back on
stage.  He proceeded to walk slowly towards front centre stage with his six string
on his back,  oozing grace and looking like the ultimate rock *god* star that
he undoubtedly is!
The song then took on a whole new concept when Jon pointed the mic at the Crowd, -
we all sang the whole first verse and chorus in unison and with all our mite, while
the band stood there gazing admiriably!
All too soon the show was over and the band took their bows to an adoring crowd.
As they left the hugeWembley stage, the screens at either side displayed the famous
Football quote from 1966, They think its all over.......It is now!!!!
