The Second Child

Pauline Johanna was born at Birdwood on the 20th Nov. 1857. Her early schooling was at Birdwood and was completed later at Palmer. She was baptized and confirmed at Birdwood and her sponsors were Anna Dorothea Rochow, Ludwig Zadow and Friedrich Hoffman.

At the age of 22 years she married Carl George Rosenberg on 5th February, 1880 at Palmer with Pastor Henzel conducting the ceremony. Their first home was at Milendella for four years and three children were born there. They then moved to Black Hill and eight years later they shifted to Bakara.

They finally settled at Loxton in the year 1907, on a farm of 700 acres. (This land was purchased at the cost of one pound {$2} per acres. Together with their children they cleared this land and grew wheat. They were blessed with eleven children, four sons and seven daughters.

Pauline's husband, Carl George, passed away in 1933, and six years later Pauline died at the age of 82 years.
