<SSG Cutter sees the individual stand up with his hands in the air. The individual slowly comes forward. SSG Cutter allows him to advance until he reaches about 10 meters from him. SSG Cutter then halts him, tells him to put his hands on his head, and face away from him. The soldier complies. CPT Wolfe then moves forward to cover the soldier. Once CPT Wolfe is in position, SSG Cutter moves forward to search the soldier.>

CPT Wolfe says "Viper 2, I got got the guy covered!" He then says to
SGT Holland "Get Down, face first! Hands on top of your head, S-L-O-W-L-Y! NOW!"

<While CPT Lee looks over Ikeman, Ikeman does the same. Ikeman notices several things right away. The flight suit gives CPT Lee away as an aviator. Closer examination reveals that CPT Lee is a Marine...>

CPT Lee looks at the newcomer. "Hey there. Are you American? I'm Jarrod Lee, Captain, USMC. Your name tag says you might be Ikeman, got a first name?" He then points to Van Clete. "This here's Van Clete. He don't speak English, as far as I know. I was getting a little lonely 'cause no one spoke English around here, except Josef. What unit were you with?"
He then turns to Josef. "What about these marauders? how many of them were there?"

SFC Ikeman gives the Captain a sideways look as he glances him over and then start to quickly scan the village. I move my shoulders to adjust the ruck and cradle my (M4) carbine in my elbow. I look somberly at the Captain "Any idea where this Ville is at sir? I've been on my escape and evasion plan for two weeks now. I'm Sgt Ikeman, Corps Recon, we ran smack into whatever rolled into you guys."

SFC Ikeman turns and starts to head for a building: "lets get out of the open sir."

Josef, snapped out of his train of thought, says "there were about 40 or 50 marauders...the numbers were not the problem, it was those damn mortars!"

PSG Van Clete watches the exchange with curiosity, not sure if he should trust either american...

A nervous snort by one of his horses awakens SFC Kartz with a start. He rolls out of his bedding and cocks the hammer of his pistol in one fluid motion. He scans the surrounding forest for what startled his horses...After several minutes, SFC Kartz begins stiffen up, paying for his quick movements. "Man it sucks being old" he thinks to himself. "Whoever said war was a young man's pursuit was right" he says to himself.
Just as he begins to relax, another one of his horses snorts again...this time another horse snorts in response, somewhere to the south.

CPT Whitedog hears a snort to his right, without thinking, he flips the safety of his MP5 to burst and begins looking for the source of the sound. He hears another snort, this time his horse snorts back. CPT Whitedog silently curses his horse and slides to the ground, looking towards the north...
