Cars
This will contain information and updates (only if i keep goin with it) on my brother Dave's datsun 1200 project car.

The Low Down:
Datsun 1200 4-door sedan with a CA18DET conversion. The CA18DET engine is a 1.8 litre, turbo charged, twin over-head cam fuel injected engine. It's gonna kick ass

I don't know where to start, so i'll just show ya some pics, and put a neat li'l caption with em     (click the pics for a slightly bigger view)

This is most basic picture of the sedan. This pic was taken after it has been stripped. i.e. no engine, interior etc.
as you can see, the paint job is whacked. The original colour was that green, but for some reason the boot, hood and roof have been painted black. The stock wheels look gay as well, but Dave's got a set of jelly bean wheels (
click here for pic) to put on, so should look ok.

This is a rear view of the beast. Taken at the same time as the pic above. The little ovals on the boot near the back is where the wing bolted on. Yes thats right, it came with a small, shitty, heavy wing (so heavy the boot springs weren't strong enough to lift it). Anyway, it looked crap, so off it came, now gotta fill up them holes. The left light has had the columns cut out of the frame. Which looks better, fram with the dividers, or without?

This is the engine bay. It's small, crowded and very multi coloured...but it'll hold one hell of an engine :D
The black stripes around the top of the strut towers, and down the sides of them is where the bay is to be seem welded. i.e. putting spot welds every couple of inches or so, just helps strengthen the whole thing up.
there's still some of the steering stuff in there, and a few other bits and pieces. Note the double wiper blades. Yes, double wiper blades...about the best part of the car at the moment lol
A picture of the interior. It aint much...in fact it's nothing but a steering column, wheel, and hand brake!
The dash has been removed, all seats and i think the carpet (i aint sure if it even came with any). The stock s/wheel is rediculously big and stupid. it's wafer thin, and very uncomfortable. Thankfully, it's been replaced with an autotechnica wheel which is very very comfortable, and looks wicked!
This shows the roll cage, and the now installed coupe dash. The roll cage is a 6-point steel bolt in contraption. Only one problem, they're illegal for road use :'(. So Dave's probly gonna sell it again, and buy an alloy version. Which isn't as strong, but legal at least. The coupe dash looks relly nice, but unfortunately has a few big cracks in the top of it, but not too bad.
This is the modified crossmember. Dave bought this from i think Dat Rats or something? a place in adelaide i think. It's the stock 1200 cross member, with modifed engine mounts, to hold the CA18.
Dave has since then modified his original cross member, to replicate this one exactly. Hence forth, he can probably sell this one again, and use the one he made.
Ahhhh, here she is...the beast! This is the CA18DET engine with the 5 speed manual 'stumpy' gearbox, i think from an early model skyline, not too sure. You can see the intake manifold nicely, the oil filter and the throttle body. The turbo is on the other side, you can see the intake pipe (the big black pipe just above the nissan sign) and the the turbo out pipe (on the left of it, with the bag on it). The box that looks to be filled with a mess of wires is actually the computer and wiring loom for the engine. It's gonna be a BIG job gettin all that hooked up.
