Belgian Mole (part 1)
Episode 7
Belle is gone. Magda is the only woman left. Will she make it to the end?
Day 13
For the first challenge, they need someone who hasn't got
scruples and again this is very important. Magda suggests Hugo to
go, but he doesn't want to. "Then why don't you just play that you have
no scruples?" she says. Hugo:"No I don't want to."
Finally it's between Guy and Hugo, they toss a coin and Mon
wins. He will be taught how to interview people. While walking through the town,
he is taught by a certain Werner. But Mon is followed by hidden cameras.
That's because the others have to predict his behaviour. Five situations will
happen and Magda, Guy and Hugo have to predict what Mon
will do. If they have 3 of them right, they win 100.000 BEF.
First situation: A ladder is standing against a wall on the sidewalk.
Will Mon walk underneath it, or will he walk past it? They think he will walk
past it. But unfortunately for them, Mon walks underneath the ladder. He isn't
superstitious and the others estimated that wrongly.
Second situation: Mon and Werner go to a pub. Will he order
anything alcoholic? They think he will. They see the waiter come and he has a
glass of beer. So this situation is predicted right.
Third situation: They order a warm meal, but Mon's meal will not
be warmed up. Will he complain? They think he will and they're right. 2
situations correct, 1 wrong.
Fourth situation: Werner goes away, but he leaves his cell-phone. Michiel
will call him. Will Mon answer the cell-phone or not? They think he
won't. The cell-phone rings. Mon takes it and tries to find Werner. So
they have three situations right. They won 100.000 BEF. They get the last
situation for fun.
Fifth situation: A woman has a flat tire on her car. Will Mon help
her? They think he will, and he does.
That evening it turns out that Mon has to interview the
others. He doesn't know what they've done that day. He has to try and find it
out. If he finds out he will win an exemption. If the others can keep it a
secret, they win 50.000 BEF. Mon let's the others know what his
challenge is. Magda asks Michiel what the time limit is. "Tomorrow
morning..." So Mon has the whole night to try to find out what
they've done.
Magda is his first victim. He tells her:" I haven't got a clue of
what you've done. If I get to know it, I will play the finale. I'm the boss. I
can do whatever I want."
It's 0.06 a.m. and Mon wakes Hugo to interview him. Mon:"What
would you do if you were me?" Hugo:"I would go for the
exemption too. But what would you do if you were me?" Mon:"They
asked someone without scruples. I can take away your beds and keep you awake all
night."
Then he wakes Guy. Mon:"Will you maintain? Will Magda
maintain?" Guy:"Magda will maintain." Mon:"I
don't think so. If I play it smart, I'll get her and handle her until she breaks
down and then..." Guy:"Then you'll have it." Mon:"Ok,
I understand that you won't tell me anything."
Nobody wants to tell anything. What will Mon do? Does he really have
no scruples and will he try to get to know it so he will be in the finale? Or
will he choose for the group and win 50.000 BEF for the kitty? And how will the
others persuade him?
Mon to Magda:"Do you want to tell me a small thing, so I
can continue with that? Guy too, he's worried about you."
Guy:"When Magda has told you, I want to make a deal between
us."Mon:"What kind of deal?" Guy:"I'll
tell you that later."
Mon:"Guy wants to spare you." Magda:"Spare
me in what way?" Mon:"If I don't get to know anything, I
will have to play it rough."
He wakes Hugo and suddenly Mon says:"Hugo, can you
tell me who you had to observe today?" Hugo is stunned and
smiles. But he doesn't say a thing. So Mon already knows something...
0.54 a.m.
Guy:"If you have the exemption, we have to talk." Mon:"But
what is this deal you're talking about? I don't get it." Guy:"I'll
tell you when..." Mon:"A deal between who?" Guy:"Me,
you and Magda."
Magda:"If I tell it, the others..." Mon:"They
won't know it, I won't tell them." Magda:"Yeah right, Of
course they will know it." Mon:"But Guy wants to make a
deal." Magda:"What's his deal?" Mon:"I
don't know. He won't tell me until I have the exemption. I will ask you one last
time: Magda, will you help me yes or..." Magda:"You've
got to stop talking bullshit! Tell me what the others told you!" Mon:"I
didn't go to Hugo yet..." Magda:"Oh, so you're sparing
Hugo, and not me!" Mon:"I'm not sparing Hugo. You're
just better to talk to. If you ask me now to stop, we'll stop."
2.38 a.m.
We see slow-motion of the interview and the contestants who are getting annoyed
and tired. We hear their voices:
"I can do whatever I want. I'm the big boss." (Mon)
"We can only talk about what has happened." (Hugo)
"Something with 'leering'?" (Mon)
"I got a lot out of Magda. I know a lot already." (Mon)
"That's what you are saying." (Hugo)
"So... help me." (Mon)
"OK, Guy, I understand that..." (Mon)
"I'm going to remain silent." (Guy)
"Just take your time." (Hugo)
"...until someone breaks down..." (Mon)
"If they won't tell you, I won't either." (Magda)
"I can only talk about myself." (Hugo)
"I'm exhausted." (Magda)
"I can keep you awake for 2 or 3 hours. Is it worth it? Will you persist
that?" (Mon)
"I town with a castle..." (Mon)
"I will continue. They already say I'm a villain." (Mon)
"I'm not going to betray everything." (Magda)
"You give me the solution or I'll cancel everything" (Mon)
"And I'm the one who's being framed!" (Magda)
Then suddenly Mon says:"A castle... observe what
someone is doing... you had to have 3 out of 5 correct. So I did 3 things which
you estimated? And you could all see that from the castle. You had to observe,
what I would do. Is that correct or not? Or are you still going to deny after
all these facts? Yes or no, what will it be?" Hugo doesn't say a
thing.
Mon:" I will continue anyway. I'm already called selfish. Yes or
no, that's all I need to know..."
Hugo:"I won't see yes and I won't say no. On the
contrary!"
5.19 a.m.
Mon:"Observing me. The car, with the flat tire. Pot au feu, which
normally was a hot meal and mine was cold. Underneath or past the ladder. I
walked underneath it. In the morning we had something to drink. I had a beer. So
you had to observe me. That's the answer."
Mon got to know everything... He has the exemption, he will be in the
finale. Everybody is woken up and told that the challenge has ended. But
everybody is very quiet. Did Hugo tell? Did Mon and Guy
make a deal? Did Magda break down and told him everything? And why
doesn't Mon tell anybody how he got to know it?
Day 14
That night they talked for a long time.
Mon:"We tried to clear up the problems and the tension with
Hugo."
Guy:"It seems to be going very well now."
Magda:"I think he had to receive a lot."
Hugo:"I feel like a boxer, who has been knocked out and is
obliged to leave the ring on his own."
The atmosphere clearly got better in the group.
Time for the third challenge. One of the last challenges. They
have to divide into 2 groups. They have to do a rally through Aix-en-Provence.
Every couple gets half of the information. Magda and Guy are
brought to a house. They get a map of the town and have to learn a route by
heart to lead Mon and Hugo to them. Mon and Hugo have
to learn a lot of addresses and corresponding house numbers by heart to try to
find Magda and Guy. On their way they will find letters of the
street where Magda and Guy are. Both couples get one hour to
learn. Then they have one hour to find each other.
They start the rally. Magda is on the cell-phone with Mon, who
isin the car with Hugo driving. They have to drive past 4 streets. Then
they see the letter 'L'. Then they are supposed to be at an important building.
And that's right, they are still on the right way. "You will get to a
row of trees. And then take the first street to the left." They do it. "When
you arrive at the next row of trees, turn right." We can already see
the next letter (E), but Mon and Hugo don't see it. They even
drive straigth ahead in stead of turning right... When they finally can turn
right, they see that it's a one-way street and they aren't allowed to turn
right. They are at the wrong place and they drive all the way back to the start.
They follow the same route as before. First street, second, third, fourth,
letter 'L', important building, row of trees. But then instead of turning left
they drive straigth ahead. They're wrong again and drive back to the start
again. Magda:"Do you really have to drive all the way back?"
Mon:"There's no other way. It's nothing but one-way streets
here." After a while they miss the street for the fourth time. They
haven't got much time left, so they have an emergency plan. They drive straigth
through the town, searching for letters. Suddenly they see an X. One minute
left... They guess it's 'Luxembourg 12', but they're wrong. The challenge failed
because of a lack of communication.
The total amount in the kitty is 1.150.000 BEF.
Suspicions
Magda:"We're almost at the end. I'm
starting to get curious."
Guy:"I think I have 1 chance of 4 that I will be in the
finale."
Hugo:"It's a lottery in some kind of way."
Mon:"The best strategie as Mole is to be normal and act along
with the others, so you won't attract attention."

The Execution
We only see one question this time:
*Where did the Mole sit when Mon had to be observed in the restaurant?
The most important execution of the Mole. The last execution. Who would be the last contestant to go home? It's...
