Proposal Topic: Auto Safety

Almost every family in America has an automobile. Auto safety is a huge issue since it affects almost everyone. Even with new technology people die in car accidents everyday. Some accidents happen because of reckless driving or people under the influence but accidents also occur from manufacturer defects. Each accident has its own cause which sometimes isn��t the consumers fault. Car recalls are released to the pubic if there are any problems. A car recall involves something that is faulty like a part that could result in a serious problem for the consumer.
Motivation I chose this topic because unlike other topics it affects everyone. Accidents happen everyday whether they are a small fender bender or a huge fatal accident. I believe that most accidents can be prevented. People have to understand that they aren��t safe. Most people in cars believe that they won��t roll over, and people in SUV��s believe the bigger they are the safer they are. Their may be some truth to these statements but no one on the road is completely safe. My audience will be drivers or passengers of any vehicles. Did you know that more than 10,000 people a year are killed in rollover crashes? People have to be aware that even with ABS, vehicle skid control, traction control, seat belts, and air bags, every time you take the wheel; you are putting your life at risk.
Questions �� How many people die in automobile accidents every year? �� Are certain vehicles safer than others? �� Do new technologies make a difference? �� How have cars changed over the years? �� What are the causes of most accidents? I hope that I can answer all these questions and more in order to help today��s active people in a fast paced world.
Proposed Cause I would like to make a difference in people��s lives. I hope my research can make people better understand the dangers of driving. I don��t want people to stop driving, but I would like people to understand that every time you��re on the road, there is a chance you could be hurt or killed. Preventing all accidents is impossible but I would like to better inform people of the risks on the road.
