Car Safety

 

Over the years cars have become more and more safe.  Cars are now made to crush, windows are made not to shatter, and cars are made to be crushed.  We have side impact steel beams and air bags just about all around you.  The problem is people still die in car crashes.  Many people feel too safe in their car.  Most teenagers believe they are invincible and nothing would happen to them.  The fact is that isn’t true.  Even with all these safety features you still can die in a crash.  Everyone needs to understand that the automobile is a tool, like other tools it can be dangerous. 

 

 

Recalls for Automobile

 

Every so often you hear on the news another car recall.  Sometimes its small like a light won’t come on, while others cause your breaks to fail.  How can my dashboard start an electrical fire?  Car manufacturers should find these problems before the cars go on the market.  It’s not just cheap cars that have problems.  Recently the Porsche Cayenne had a recall as did the Infiniti FX45.  Safety is one of the most important things you look at when buying a car.  A car like the Ford Focus has had more than 10 recalls. Don’t you think something should have been found before releasing them to the public?

 

AWD

 

“AWD” stands for all wheel drive.  Every year more and more cars are offering AWD.  All SUV’s have an option for 4wd and some have AWD but what about cars.  For years cars were either front or rear wheel drive but that seems to be something in the past.  AWD takes power from a slipping wheel and gives it to the other wheels providing better safer poor weather driving.  Now people can get the traction they want and need in bad weather, while still having all the benefits of a car, like better fuel economy.
