Rudi, Jess, Allison and Steph @ Rookie Week!
Sarah Fredrickson
"This
is
my third and last Little 500 and I hope to help my team to victory one
more time.
I began cycling at the age of 15 as a mountain biker and when I
matriculated three years ago
I was overwhelmed with request to ride in Little 5 and finally gave
in. Now after three years with the Roadrunners
I am primarily a road cyclist and compete during the summer in some
collegiate racing. Here at IU I am
studying for a degree in biology and I am planning on going to medical
school in the fall of next year.
I also work at the Bicycle Garage and enjoy helping newcomers get
involved in the sport. "

Jessica
Coulter
"Hi there, my name is Jessica
Coulter and I am from Frankfort, Indiana - home of
the hotdogs. I am a sophomore here at IU; however, I just changed my
major from
Biology to Public Health, so I feel more like a freshman all over
again. I
fell into the riding scene purely by luck when I met Sarah Fredrickson
at a
party held by a fellow friend from TMT, Steve Ballinger. She was
talking up the
Little 500 and invited me to join the team off handedly. Little did she
know
I'd take her up on that offer and, to her surprise, dropped my
waitressing
money on a bike, and joined the Roadrunners in the fall of 2003. I am
very
excited for the Little 500, being that it will be my first, and I know
there's
enough heart and talent on this team to be a threat on that cinder
track come"

Stephanie Govert
"Hey there, my name is
Stephanie
Govert, and I am from Griffith, Indiana (the
heart of the Region). I am a very enthusiastic sophomore majoring in
Public
Affairs Management with a minor in Telecommunications. I firmly believe
that my
fairly newfound passion for cycling brought me back to IU. After a
rough first
semester here as a freshman, I decided to attend school at home and
fell into
training for triathlons as something to keep my mind off the monotony
of living
and learning at home. Quickly realizing that running and swimming
weren't my
forte, but blowing the triathlon fields away on the bike, I devoted the
rest of
my summer to cycling, and have not stopped since. I met Sarah
Fredrickson on my
very first ride in Bloomington, and after a not so stellar performance
on the
unforgiving hills of Monroe County, was more than flattered when she
invited me
to join the Roadrunners. This will be my first Little 500 experience,
and to
say that I am excited would be an understatement. This team has the
skill, the
grit, and most importantly, the heart it takes to win an event like
Little 5.
Come April 23'd , the Roadrunners will own the track at Armstrong
Stadium."

This is Steph at her wedding, she loves biking so
much that she unicycled on the happiest day of her life!
P.S. don't make fun of her for the 80's dress, she lost her ability
to decypher style in a tragic bike accident.

Allison Lafferty
I
am a sophomore from Bedford, Indiana and this is my first year riding
in the Little 500,
but I've been coming to the races with my family for as long as I can
remember. I began my
cycling career back in April of '03, when I bought my first road bike
(not counting the little blue 'luv puppy'
with training wheels I had oh so long ago). I decided to go to
I.U. sort of as a last minute
thing after my parents, both of which are alumni, badgered me into
coming here.
However, I am very grateful that I decided the way that I
did. I plan to graduate with a degree in
Communication and Culture and a minor in either French or Political
Science, but before I graduate
I plan on studying abroad in Rome next spring. Among all the
plans, the most important will be to
carry the Roadrunners to a wonderful victory this April!
