The Road Hammers are a 5 piece no-nonsense, kick-ass musical mix of Country, Southern Rock and Blues, playing classic trucker songs and new originals, stories of the open road and maverick culture.
The brainchild of Canadian Country Star Jason McCoy, (2004 CCMA Male Vocalist of The Year) the band was born out of Jason�s desire to develop a new project from the ground up, singing a style of music which formed him as an artist, while paying tribute to the men and women who call the highways of the world their home.
Combining the vocal talents of Jason McCoy, Alberta�s own renegade voice Clayton Bellamy, and the smooth harmonies of Chris Byrne, The Road Hammers unique vocal blend embodies everything a music fan could possibly want to hear. Rounded out by Scott Christensen and Darrell Coombes, The Road Hammers are the most unique musical experience to come along in decades!
The Album
Currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on their debut album, The Road Hammers have recorded an awesome mix of Truckin� classics and new Originals. Songs like �Girl On The Billboard�, �East Bound and Down�, and Little Feat�s �Willin�, find a new and vibrant life along side such infectious originals as �Overdrive�, Keep On Truckin��, and the autobiographical flagship anthem �I�m A Road Hammer�.
Although the songs explore the main theme of the �Highway� this album appeals to music fans of all kinds, with universal themes of losin�, lovin� and livin� all delivered in an amazingly powerful musical package�.this is the definitive and ultimate driving album!
The CMT Series
CMT could see the writing on the wall, and they knew something big was about to happen when Jason started putting this project together, so the cameras began rolling day one, and have been following Jason through the ups and downs of this wild journey over the past 12 months. This Documentary � Reality series will air on CMT Canada in 6 one-hour �Prime Time� episodes over the course of six weeks, beginning Spring 2005.
