Battlecruiser

Indefatigable Class Battlecruiser

Displacement (tons): 18,800 Standard, 21,300 Full Load Dimensions (feet): 590 x 80 x 30 Propulsion: 4 x Parsons Turbines, 43,000 hp, 4 shafts Max. Speed (knots): 25 Armament: 8 x 12-inch, 16 x 4-inch, 4 x 3 pdr, 5 x MG, 2 x 18-inch torpedo tubes Aircraft: Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter (1917-19) Complement: 820 No. Name Commissioned Notes/Fate -- HMS New Zealand 21/6/13 A gift from New Zealand to the Royal Navy. Sister ship to HMS Indefatigable and HMAS Australia. Sold for scrap under the Washington Treaty on 19/12/22. Note: Built by Fairfield Shipbuilding, Glasgow, UK. Lengthened version of the earlier British Invincible class battlecruisers. She collided with HMAS Australia on 22/4/16 and later participated in the Battle of Jutland.

Minesweeper/Depot ship 1917. Training ship 1921. Transferred to RNZN 1/10/41. Paid off 16/1/47. Sunk at sea 6/8/49. Note: Built by Devonport, UK. and completed on 10/11/1891.

Goldfinch Class Composite Gunboat

Complement: 76 (RN) No. Name Commissioned Notes/Fate -- Amokura 10/7/06 Ex-HMS Sparrow. Used as Boys Training Ship. Sold 1922. Broken up 1955. Note: Built by Scott, UK., and completed on 13/5/1890.
