How to find Jesus! |
| One of my favorite
illustrations in the Bible is the story of the prodigal son. This
story tells of a Father who loves his son so much that even though he
strays away from him, he welcomes him back with open arms. He
longs to see this son again and has already forgiven him before he came
back from wasting all his inheritance. That is like God. God
wants us to be with Him so much that He longs for us, and tries to draw
us closer to Him with His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit touches us
and calls us closer to Him every day. All we need to do is
respond.
Jesus paid the ultimate price, but He did it for our sins. He died on a cross so we would not have to be punished. All we need to do is respond to this life saving deed. We believe in Him and take what he did on the cross to be the punishment for our sin and we believe that He forgives us and gives us eternal life. Jesus loves you so much he says in John 6:37 "But some will come to me-those the Father has given me-and I will never, never reject them." If you feel like someone is rejecting you it is not God. God wants to be close to you. Jesus rose again to new life, if we believe in that, we have His victory over death. Death will not claim our soul, and our spirit. We will go to be with God and eventually our bodies will be resurrected again as well. It sounds too good to be true, but when you look at the terrible price Jesus paid, it really is not. Jesus loves you and wants to be with you. Accept his death and resurrection for you today. |
