05.08.02 London was great fun! I really, really enjoyed myself. I love my friends. Cardiff was a bit boring though, but i still had a great time with my friends. It was great fun meeting up with Anand. So weird. He's in UK for the summer holidays. Currently on his AFS year in Switzerland. He's from Malaysia by the way. My favourite place of all was Madame Tussauds. YOU MUST GO THERE!! The wax dolls were so real. The Princess Diana's Memorial Children's Playground incident in Kensington Gardens was hilarious. Not at that time though. You see, Syeekin is a big fan of Princess Diana. She saw on the map that there was a Princess Diana's Memorial in Kensington Gardens and wanted to go there. So we decided to walk there from Buckingham Palace. It was far! We reached the place on the map and searched for the memorial but couldn't, so we started asking around, and no one knew! We only saw the playground there. Then we realised, that the Children's Playground was the Memorial!! How silly were we??! What a waste of time, but sure and experience to remember. Needless to say, Jose was mad and was cursing by then. Who wouldn't cos it was a far distance to walk and we were tired!! However, he kept us all entertained, but did complain a little bit too much. Hehe. Syeekin was her normal crazy self and Shiang was quiet. I miss them already. Hope Jose's having a fun time in France, Shiang a good time in London and Syeekin a safe trip back, I'm feeling so tired now....on the train back to Penzance.

12.08.02 Yes, i've finally moved! It's pretty cool here. A big house with loads of people. There were about 15 exchange students staying the day i moved in. Germans, French, Spanish....you name it. I'm definately not moving back in with Carol! Went camping out in Polzeath, North Cornwall last Wednesday until Saturday. It was fun and good. I was the only girl camping with um....5 boys(Peter, Andrew, Jowan, Jon and Wut)! There were COLD, STRONG winds though. Apparently there was a twister up in Dorset. A lot of campers left, but we persevered, not wanting to give in to nature! Anyway, went for lots of cliff walks with Peter while the others kept themselves occupied. It was very scary as the wind was super strong. At one point, we got so scared on the cliffs, ended up trespassing into people's farm, and climbed over the barbed wired fence to get out. Haha. So fun. We also walked to Padstow. Quite a distance. It was absolutely pouring down with rain! Watched my first rugby match ever last Sunday at the Mennaye Field. The Penzance and Newlyn Pirates vs Exeter Chiefs. Today i went swimming off Battery Rocks after being convinced by Peter - without a wetsuit! IT WAS FREEZING COLD, but fun. Then went to Marazion beach with Peter, Jon(from Spain) and Volkan(from Germany). Later, we had dinner at the Renaissance as a farewell to Jon. Life goes on. College starts early September. Not too sure if i can make it up to Aberystwyth. Called home today, and made some plans for when i go back. Tomorrow another busy day. These Germans are making so much noise in the room next to mine! So far, things are going great with the Urens and hopefully, things won't be like it was at Carols.

28.08.02 The weather past few days have been great. The cross bay charity swim from Newlyn to Penzance on the 23rd of August went well. I swam it, without a wetsuit in 27 minutes. Am pleased and proud of myself. :o) Looks like all that 7am swim off the Battery Rocks every morning with Peter paid off! The swim was for the McMillan Cancer Relief. We had a barbeque later that night. The Newlyn Fish Festival was ok, though not as good as i thought it was going to be. It was held on Monday bank holiday, the 26th of August. We have been spending the last two days lying at Portherras Beach, soaking up the sun, surfing, swimming, watching seals! No dolphins though. Yesterday was baking hot, but today we weren't so lucky. However, it wasn't raining. The grey seal made me really excited. Hehe. It was good fun just lying and doing nothing there. What a hard life! :o) Peter, Penny, Gill, Volkan and i just went to the Minack Theatre to watch "Jack The Ripper". The sunset there was awesome. It was quite good and it wasn't cold or anything. Well, summer is nearly over and i can't wait to go back to college. I wonder if Jose is having a good time in France?

04.09.02 Gill, Iain and Andrew went back to Exeter yesterday. Poor Ben(the border collie) won't get as much walks now. Made more trips to Portherras and Porthminster beach. I try to swim off the Battery Rocks every morning except Sundays, eventhough it's tempting. Sent off some postcards today and played with Ben on Newlyn Beach. College starts next Monday. Part of me can't wait to go back, another part is just too lazy! I'm starting to love staying here in Penzance!! Is it because of my new host family or maybe the lovelier weather? I don't know, perhaps both. I'll definately feel very very sad when i leave here in December. I've learnt to like like a Cornishman. Cornwall will probably be my second home. Awwww... life here is really calm and slow. Well, i guess seeing my family and friends will make things better about leaving here. I miss home a lot. I wonder what's in store for me next year? Can't wait until Christmas. BE STILL FOR THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD, THE HOLY ONE IS HERE....
