Being a student and a member of ONEGeneration is a important combination in this fight against poverty and AIDS. As ONE you hold A LOT of power and there are several ways to use that power of voice, action, and determination to get involved!
Bring awareness about ONE and ONE Generation to your school! By doing so the effort to gain students of OUR generation, a very powerful generation, will continue and become even stronger. TOGETHER, we, right NOW, can make a difference that everyone will start to see. The ONE.org website provides useful handouts that can be printed like the ONE Declaration, the ONE Letter to Congress, and ONE Facts, that you can use. Set up an information table, handout flyers, or make an announcement about ONE.org and ONEGerneration. Have your voice heard and KNOW that YOU are making the difference needed! (I will soon be posting some more information about ONE Generation that you will be able to use in printout form so keep on a look out!)
Send out an email! Write an email or letter to your friends about ONE and encorage them to visit both the ONE and ONEGeneration site. Nowadays email is one of, if not the biggest, forms of communication so what better way to spread the word? If you click here you can send out this already customized email about ONE and ONEGeneraton or create your own to send out. Whatever you decide works best do it and get the word out!
As with many advocacy organizations one of the best ways to create awareness and change is by contacting those that represent us! I know it sounds familiar but only because it is true! Send a letter to your representative and let him or her know about ONE and ONEGeneration and what we are calling for. Once again, write your own letter or click here and send this prepared letter about ONE and ONEGeneration. Just copy and paste it into a email with your name, hometown, and email. OR, print it out and send it in a handwritten envelope with your name and address. This will make the letters personalized and listerned too! Feel free to customize it with you words of support as well!
