Dear Representative/Senator_____________________,
I am a member of ONE. A member of ONE voice calling for change. I am a member of ONE Generation. I am your average young person. Today, over millions of people around the world live on less than a dollar a day. And I am writing you to ask for ONE thing. I am asking for your support in directing an additional one percent of the US budget toward fighting poverty and AIDS. A large amount of people my age in America have the fortune of going to school, not worrying where there next meal is to come from, having friends and family, and being given the gift of education. We are given the tools to advance in this world and even more important the chance to a life. And right now I am calling on behalf of the others in my age group, in OUR generation, that cannot be heard because they haven't been given the opportunities we have. The opportunity of voice, education, the resources, or even the chance to another, better, life. We can help provide this with debt relief, resources, fair trade, and by drawing attention to these critical issues.
I am ONE among many people my age, in my generation, that realizes what needs to be done and that plans to act on it. We can change the lives of millions of other teenagers and their families if we redirect our budgjet just 1% toward better water, health, food, economics, and education. Education is so important and can save lives in many countries. By providing these basic needs of life we can create a change that is not only temporary but permanent. We can help some of the world's poorest people to truly help themselves.
As a member ONEGeneration I am part of a group of teenagers and students just like me calling out to you, my representative, to help us create change. Our generation WANTS change and we are respectively calling upon you to help us in our movement to help others, like us and their families, live better lives by overriding poverty and AIDS.
With your help we can make life better for millions.
