Nassau Sites
Sandals Resort- On Sept. 10th we went for a walk along cable beach and spent the day at sandals.  This is the most amazing resort, we had an amazing day!  The pictures below are us at sandals, we had about 15 bahama mamas and I topped it off with a steak dinner... Awesome.
Once in Nassau we went down Bay st. to Queen St. and went up the Queens Staircase at the Top is the water tower (the highest point in Bahamas) and Fort FinCastle.
Fort Fincastle, overlooking the town from Bennet's Hill was built by Lord Dunmore, about 1793 who named it after his second title, Viscount Fincastle.
In a letter to the Secretary of State of February 17, 1794, he describes it as "a battery upon a hill in this island to the Eastwards of the Government House mounting two 24 pounders, two 32 pounder Carronades, two 12 pounders, and one Howitzer, which not only covers the Battery in Hog Island (Paradise Island) but all the Town and Road to the Eastward where the enemy might probably have effected a landing."
These are some pictures from the top of Fort FinCastle.  The left is the main port.  The center is the CannonBall Guns on the Fort and the Right is the Bridge going to Paradise Island and Atlantis.
I bought those Aves shortly after a local made me a half rum half frest coconut drink... Good stuff!
Our last Stop was the parliament Square. Constructed in 1815, these buildings are excellent examples of colonial architecture. The Houses of Assembly, the old Colonial Secretary?s Office and the Supreme Court are clustered around a statue of Queen Victoria. The buildings on the north side of the square face a bust of Sir Milo B. Butler, the first Governor-General of The Islands Of The Bahamas. Tours are available when the government is not in session. Parliament Square is located just across Bay Street from Rawson Square.
A panoramic view of New Providence Island coast to coast can be seen from the water tower. This is the highest point on the island, 216 fett above sea level. Located near fort Fincastle.
Queen's Starcase. This 102 foot climb was named in honour of the Queen's 65 year governance of the commonwealth of islands.  The 65 Steps was carved out of solid limestone in the 1800s by slaves between 1793 and 1794.  The slaves were forced to hammer through the limestone with an picks and axes.
Atlantis
Atlantis is the best known resort on the island.  Nik and Jessica were married here.  It has a world class casino and the largest Aquarium in the world. When we went to the beach we were able to sneak onto atlantis and we went on all the water slides, it was wicked... everywhere you looked  it was amazing.
Cricket Club
Every sunday there are cricket games, so we went and checked it out.  I was very confused, as white played white and the final score was 74-13
Fort Charlotte. Located above the cricket pitch is the largest fort on the island, loaded with cannons, prisons, and dungeons to explore.
