I was really looking forward to seeing this one. Then I made the mistake of listening to other professional critics. Of course, most dislike it heavily. So I put off seeing it for a full two weeks. Then I went with low expectations. To my surprise, this movie is actually good. In the context of a horror, it's pretty damn good. More than that, it's the best horror flick this year.

Some critics said it was just like any other horror flick. But it isnt. It has style, more suspense, competent lead actors, a realistic looking killer and it toys with your head with a weird ending. To me, that makes a real great horror flick. Not to mention strong story for a horror. How can any critic say it just stepped in all the same hoops as all other horrors nowadays? The original is the one that inspired that of today's horror flicks!!

Is it perfect? Nope. Got some bad actors who get killed early. But that's nothing new. Also doesn't have a whole lot of comedy either. Also you have to go into this knowing the overall story to get it. The movie isn't clear about the surrounding townies and their involvement. So you should do a little research. I guess they thought everyone seeing this saw the original. But I haven't seen it oddly enough!! That's my next rental whenever they actually have it in stock.

Anyways, I say forget what any of the critics say; this one is good, you'll love it!

In short:
Comedy: Not really
Violence/language: Nothing as explicit as you think
Nudity/sex: None
High Points: Genuinely scary, good directing
Low Points: Don't understand movie unless know something about it before hand, a few bad actors

Rating: B
