My career is a rather unknown profession. Actuaries work in the Insurance and Pension practices, calculating how much people should pay for insurance in the case of accident or contributions to a pension plan in order to receive a large pension when they retire. Becoming an actuary is no easy task. A series of bloody hard exams covering business, economics and lots of mathematics and statistics must be passed. I have passed the first exam, but I have about seven more to go. I am currently employed with Morneau Sobeco in Fredericton. My resume (pdf and HTML) is also available.

I chose this field because I have always felt I was strong in mathematics, but I wanted to do something useful with it. I could have chosen engineering, but I wanted to go through the road less travelled.
