Minority Report is a top-notch futuristic thriller. Tom Cruise stars as John Anderton, head director of the pre-crime unit in the year 2054. The pre-crime Department detects murders before they occur.

After many years of pre-crime successfully preventing all murders in the local area, Danny Witwer (Colin Farrell) is sent to inspect for possible flaws in the system before making pre-crime available nation wide. Things turn on pre-crime when John Anderton is accused of commiting a murder in the near future by his own system. The situation unfolds into a thrilling "Who done it?" approached by an angle no other film as ever done.

Steven Spielburg puts his imagination to work, coming up with clever, memorable shots. The cast is of high quality, notably Samantha Morton whose performance is Oscar worthy.

Though the movie is almost 2 ½ hours long, I barely looked at my watch the whole time. Though Spielburg is known for making films for wide audiences, this movie is bound to put the typical child asleep or in total confusion, as the plot takes many twists and turns and is far more sophisticated than most of Speilburg`s past films (taking away Schindler`s List).

The most important thing about a movie of the like is that even though it is a little confusing at times, the ending is coherent and ties the plot together, unlike Tom Cruise`s last film, the waste of 2 hour of good time I could do something else with, bust, "Vanilla Sky".

In short:
Comedy: A few comical extras.
Violence: One scene will make you squirm, a few non-bloody fight scenes
Nudity: None
High Points: Cleverness of Spielburg/Plot, Samantha Morton
Low Points: Some scenes could be taken out, could have made it a little easier to grasp for younger people without losing it`s touch.

Rating: A-
