Halloween Resurrection is the eighth film in the Halloween series, which started almost 25 years ago. This time, Micheal Myers is hunting down kids who are spending the night at his chilhood`s home as a contest. It doesnt`t really matter what the plot is, if you`ve seen one of the Halloween movies, you know exactly what your coming to see.

There was reason for me to see it in the first place. Micheal Myers is one of the horror genre legends. Though he is enough for a good scare, the presence of Jaime Lee Curtis actually made the previous movies good. The first Halloween is especially good. That being said, Jaime Lee Curtis is in this movie, but for only a short time (This should give you a hint). Though the movie looks promising after the first 20 minutes, things turn for the worse and well, don`t turn the other way for the rest of the film.

I`d forgive the bad acting and dumb plot if the killing scenes were cool or the special effects were top notch. But even these are not present. It looks as though they positioned the cameras by shooting a dart in the dark and took first takes the whole way, taking away any scariness in Myers. And the "This is for John! This is for Mary!" screams as the hero attacks Micheal don`t help.

I would have done this movie much differently. I don`t believe the Halloween series is better left for dead, I think someone could make an interesting follow-up to this film and bring it to dignity again. In the meantime, this one is great if your mental maturity is below 12, or you think the theme song is the best among all horror films, like myself :>)

In short:
Comedy: A lot of it is unintentional, but there is some.
Violence: In the context of a horror flick, this one is rather tame on the violence.
Nudity: One breast shot, but you knew that because all cheesy horror flicks have one.
High Points: The part Jaime Lee Curtis is there, the musical score
Low Points: Bad acting, bad plot, bad camera shots, pretty predictable

Rating: C-
