Finding Nemo June 2, 2003 Starring: Albert Brooks,
Ellen DeGeneres, Willem Dafoe, Geoffrey Rush, Allison Janney, Barry Humphries,
Brad Garrett, Austin Pendleton, Stephen Root, Vicki Lewis, John Ratzenberger,
Joe Ranft, Alexander Gould, Elizabeth Perkins Director: Andrew Stanton Official Website: http://www.findingnemo.com/ Pixar productions work their magic once more exploring the hidden worlds of the ocean and one daddy`s journey to find his son Nemo, stuck in a dentist`s aquarium. In what is bound to be the best animated movie of the year, it`s definitely a crowd pleaser. Although I didn`t see the story of the movie being all that great going into it, It was surprisingly funny and uplifting. Among the many voices behind the movie is the hilarious Ellen DeGeneres as the absent-minded sidekick Doreen, by far my favorite character. Some of the animations are so well done you sometimes forget you`re actually watching a cartoon, it`s so real it`s scary! The movie has plenty of feel good cutesy moments, fine if you didn`t think Monsters Inc. wasn`t too "Kid" for you. I would say this movie falls short of Shrek but about as enjoyable as Monsters Inc. Though the quality of the movie is superior in all aspects, I can`t say it is original, it is somewhat predictable and very much fits the mold of most Disney movies (after all, it is aimed at kids, we don`t want to confuse them do we?) In the end, I wasn`t pleasantly satisfied with yet another great Ma movie, or maybe I am just getting too easy to please?? Just see it!!
In short: Rating: B+ |
