Sponsored Project: National Program for Capacity Building for Engineers in Earthquake Risk Management(NPCBEERM-2005), supported by 'Ministry of Home Affairs', Government of India. (Oct 04 - June 05)
Details: I am appointed as Research Assistant
The overall goal of the project is sustainable earthquake risk reduction in the country. Provide technical support to the State Governments in carrying out retrofitting of lifeline buildings and systems. To ensure seismically safe construction by training and experiments exposure to the structural Engineers.

Dual Degree Project: Semi-active modal control for seismic structures with variable friction dampers (May 04 - 05)
Software: ANSYS, C++, MATLAB
Details: It deals with design of a semi-active modal control system for developing earthquake resistant structures. Developing an optimal semi-active on-line control algorithm to solve highly non linear multi-degree-of-freedom dynamic structure that follows some of the latest advancements in this field.

Advanced Seminar: Retrofitting of Historical Building using Base Isolation (Aug - Nov 2003)
Details: Modal analysis of Structural retrofitting by Seismic base isolation using ANSYS software for historical monument. Forces and the relative displacements reduce significantly for base isolated structures.

Seminar: Smart Structures and Materials - State of the Art (Jan - April 2003)
Details: This involved a literature survey on various smart structures and materials, applications in fields. Their enhanced performance outweighs that of the original structure, being able to detect damage and deterioration in the structure and notify engineers before failure occurs.

Was among the top 1% of the 1.5 lakh students who appeared for IIT Joint Entrance Examination. Indiaâ€™s toughest and most reputed engineering entrance examination.
Won First prize for "Skyline", Analysis and design of best durable and economical multistoried building structure providing modern amenities, in Techfest 2005, IIT Bombay.
Won Second prize for "Structural Modelling", NIRMITI-2004 competition at S.P.C.E college, mumbai.

Presented paper on "Smart Structures" in a Technological festival of VJTI College, mumbai. This deals with the application of smart materials and smart structures in the different fields of engineering. Smart materials are materials, which can sense their surroundings and can behave accordingly. Structures made using smart materials can use the above stated properties of smart materials and can prevent the deformation of structures during impact and dynamic loadings.

Presented paper on "Biological Corrosion of Concrete by Sulphuric Acid" under guidance of Prof. Kapil Gupta.

Short term summer project on Advanced Auto Cad Application.

Participated in NIRMITI-2004 at S.P.C.E. college, mumbai in events like Technical Quiz, Autocad modelling, and Case Study Analysis.

Job: Railway Bridge across Panvel Creek (May - July 2002)
Organization: Gammon India Ltd
Details: Construction of Railway Bridge across the Panvel Creek, New Bombay. Developed software to estimate the cable profile. Completed CPM-PERT using Primavera software for railway bridge construction activities. Acquainted with the construction drawing and daily construction activities. Drawn detail Launching Barge diagram in AUTOCAD. Cost analysis for various activities and materials.
