Alan famously had a 'fling' with Ralph in the early days that didnt work out. He has been well behaved, but did make a rather foolish leap for freedom while the bowl was being cleaned. Alan was placed in a temporary blue bowl, while the main abode was cleaned, Alan eemed to think it fun to jump out of the bowl to the distress of his father Rhys. Thankfully he was quickly returned to the water, before any lasting damage was done.

Alan has also let his intelligence shine through as he now knows that the hand that moves up the bowl will feed him, so he comes to the surface of the water in anticipation. Alan is a solid calm, but lively fish that is expected to live for a long time here after.
