The way this is going to work is simple.  Anyone can play, up to 7 players per game.  Depending on the number of interested players, I may start multiple games, but for now, we'll stick with one.
The game will take place completely online, with no actual board or pieces set up anywhere..
Each turn will last one week, this includes the diplomacy phase and the order writing phase.  All orders must be submitted by midnight on Saturday; I will try to move the pieces and take the pictures sometime on Sunday, or as soon as I can.  I will be the final word on the map, orders, rules (using the rulebook), and turn delays.  Any questions or concerns may be submitted to me for consideration.

Joining a Game: To join a game, contact me, and I will put you on the list for the next game.  You will be contacted at the beginning of that game to see if you are still interested in playing.  Countries will be assigned randomly.

Orders:  Your orders must be submitted to me by email at the following address.
E-Mail:
[email protected]
If for some reason you are unable to get to a computer during that time, you may submit your orders by phone or in person.  However, do not expect me to memorize verbal orders.
Orders may be submitted once, and may not be taken back or re-done.  Send all orders to me for each turn together.  In the case that I receive two different sets of orders, I will use the first set.  Failure to submit orders on time will result in all of your units holding.
If you are unable to submit orders for any reason, let me know ahead of time and I may be able to help you out
.
Orders will not be accepted through a third party person, as I can not be sure who actually wrote them this way.

Contacting Players
: I will post any contact information submitted by each player (aliases may not be used at this time).  There are no types of contact currently prohibited in this game.  However, attempts at intimidation will not be tolerated.
Suggested contact info. to submit:
E-mail, phone number(s), MSN/AIM/YIM, and/or physical address.  All that is required for you to submit is your name, but if no one can contact you, you may be at a disadvantage
.

Reading the MapThis online map will look a bit different than you may be used to.  The pieces will be represented by colored Text-boxes.  Inside the box are 2 letters, one representing the type of unit (fleet or army) and the other representing the country of owndership.  For example,      would represent an army ownded by France.
There are no actual province names located on the map so you will have to use the
abbreviation guide to write your orders.

My Role: As the Game Master, I will not be playing in the actual games.  Otherwise, it would be too easy for me to cheat.  I will merely be hosting and making sure the rules are followed.
Rules

The Diplomacy Game
TIPS:
READ THE RULES! This game is complicated, and there will be only a 3-turn grace period for new players.  After that, incorrect orders will not go through.  Any player familiar with the rules will have a great advantage over one who hasn't.
Keep a paper copy of the map at home with the locations of all pieces marked.  This will help you if you are unable to access the site for any reason, or suspect me of a mistake.
Have Fun! Don't take the game too seriously.  Tension can become high, and this can ruin the fun for you and the other players.
Most of all, don't quit early just because you're losing.  If you can't take losing, don't play.  Keep in mind, things can change very fast in this game.
Hold on to your allies. They can be very useful, and very hard to get if you have a reputation of backstabbing early.
However, do not be afraid to backstab either.  If you wait too long, you may find yourself on the sharp end of the stab.
Got a Tip?  Let me know and I may decide to post it here.
