Action Plan

Purpose

The West Indian Association of Indiana has taken an active position on our website. The purpose is to update the website with people, literature, activities, and news (PLAN). Our PLAN will affect the West Indian Association of Indiana website on content and technical aspects.

Current Status

The current status of our website is that Rinata Davis has updated the website to more assessable and navigation is easier to use. The action plan will discuss content aspects and technical aspects that will grow over the years. In each aspect, I will discuss management, maintenance, and evaluation sections to gain a deeper understanding of the website.

Content: Management Maintenance Evaluation

Technical: Management Maintenance Evaluation

 I. Content Aspects

Management

The management section includes promotion, policy, and volunteering, the promotion will be achieved by flyers and word of mouth advertising through members and friends of the association. The “Government” page will soon have a support page asking for volunteers. The “Building” page will ask for support for the building funds. The policy will bee updated disclaimer will be looked over annually. On the “Directions” page, I will include a map to help make the information a bit more relative.

Maintenance

The maintenance section includes a schedule of high traffic areas. On the “Meeting” page, there will be a list of dates for the upcoming year. On the “Organizational Chart”, there will be pictures of the board members and their duties. I thought this would be important for new members to understand what the board does during meetings. “What's New” page of the website will be updated monthly. The “Schedule” of new materials for the website and “Yearly” events will be updated annually. The “Minutes” page will have information on what was discussed in meeting in a PDF format. I will get this information from the secretary, and the format will be month/date_year.pdf. The sitemap will be updated as needed.

Evaluation

The evaluation section includes all the pages. The evaluation of the website will be formative evaluation every six months. This section will be completed by members of the association and individuals unknown to the website. In an annual summative evaluation of the website, there will be a checking of the labeling, grouping, and structure of the website. The structure is the how effective and useful is my website. I want patrons to leave with a sense of accomplishment.   The grouping would be looking over once a year so as not change too much so that regular patrons can get information without struggling. The labeling, which is a type of prototyping, will be looked at during this time so that when different groups change an overall change will happen. This summative evaluation will help clear up some confusion of the website, if there is any confusion. The content will be check for accuracy and consistency for validation reasons.
