Audience
The primary patrons to this website would be members of the organization. The secondary patrons would be Caribbean people wandering the Internet, sponsors of events, and fellow international not-for- profit organizations.
Website purpose is to provide access to Caribbean resources in Indiana.
Needs Assentment / Goals
Information provided by surveys of member, non- member and IUPUI students. New information was a reason to visit more often. The kind of information wanted was: when the last meeting was held, what was said; and what are they doing next. A downloadable event calendar was cited, and there were reasons why people should come to the meetings.
A mission statement and general information about the organization was also needed.
The technical aspects wanted were less usage of drop shadows, and smaller size of words, so that pixels would not show. The last thing wanted was information about the Caribbean, such as map of the countries, photos and flags.
Content
The essential content on this website will be government information. There will be three subpages which are organizational chart, mission statement, and minutes. The organizational chart will have the names, addresses, and telephone number of the board.
The mission content on this website will be what the organization would like to accomplish in the coming years. The minutes will be of October to update all of the members and to give information about what is happening in the meetings.
The special content on this website will be building fund information. The information ill help raise awareness and, hopefully, funds for the new building the association has purchased. The goal is to have help in the coming years.
The dynamic content on this website will be new information. There will be two subpages, which are “What’s New” page and “Yearly” page. The “What’s New” page will be what the organization will hope to accomplish.
The interactive content on this website will be a business page. The business page will offer some Indiana Caribbean business, as well as other organizations that are Caribbean.
