July 2003 Kimo Sensei's Inaugural Visit to Rhode Island

WAKEFIELD, RI--In an unexpected change of his busy summer schedule, Rhode Island Kodokan had the fortune of training, sailing, and feasting with Sensei Kimo Wall for two weeks.

The Rhode Island Dojo has been in operation for five years, with the last three years in its present location at the town of Wakefield's Parks and Recreation Department--the Neighborhood Guild. The dojo has 19 students, and, as their sensei, Frank Duffin, states "The dojo was at a solid green belt level on the whole. Kimo Sensei's visit took our dojo to the next level." ... (more)

12 July 2003 On behalf of our dojo I would like to thank Kimo Sensei for visiting with us during the past two weeks. It was an honor to train with him.

Boston training. We are invited to train at the Boston dojo on Saturday May 25th. We can get some cars together and leave around 7am. We should be back around 2pm. Hope you all can make it. Sensei

Members from the Boston Dojo will be training with us on Sunday 5 May 2002. Class may be extended an extra hour.

26 September 2000 Rhode Island Kodokan starts its first class at its current location in the Peace Dale Office building with six members. Of the original six members, four are still training, Frank Sensei, Cheryl and Pete at Rhode Island Kodokan, and Hokkan at Boston Kodokan.
