There weren't many players playing tonight. I don't know if it was
because the game was held on Sunday, or if many people began their
talkcity boycott a day early. We outnumbered the Lizards 2 -
1, but they still fought us all the way.
Game one started off with Foreign Languages and the Lizards took the lead
5 - 4. They slithered their way through the Parts of a Horse double
point cat and increased their lead to 13-8. However, we know our
Batman Villians and we made a come from behind run for the lead.
"B" bands was up next and we increased our lead to 20 - 14.
We held the Lizards back with TV Spinoffs scoring 8 pts to their 1 pt.
We finished the game with Halloween - no tricks tonight for the WOnders,
only treats. Final Score 33-17.
Again we showed our vast knowledge of the useless by sweeping the Star
Trek Characters cat 3 - 0. Football Stadiums was up next bringing
our lead to 9 - 3. The Lizards had a great comeback in the German
Males Names cat narrowing our lead to 12-9. We reversed the strategy
and swept the Frost Poems cat. The Ramoes Cat was next followed by
Types of Peppers where we scored 9 pts bringing the score to 29-12. We
ended with Woody Allen movies - Final Score 35- 15.

Six Pack...the team of comebacks. Could a new slogan be in the
works? They showed us just what a comeback was in both games.
First game, they started with a 5-1 lead on NASCAR drivers. We
turned it around with chairs and Egyptian dieties to take a commanding
lead of 22-14, but Six knew their brain parts and road signs and forced a
last round showdown with the score now at 27-25 LOLers. Then Bloom
County was our Doom County and they beat us out, being that it was a
double pointer, 33-31.
In the second game it was pretty much the same way, they started on a 4-1
lead on Horses (including one point for knowing the famous horse,
"horse"), but we came back on baby nursery stuff, Celine Dion
and instruments to take a 21-14 lead. Six really cruised their way
almost to a tie on California cities, and although we managed to maintain
the lead through First aid and international currencies, it came down to a
sudden death round, things that are Black, a cat that I would presume at
least 95% of the available answers will be taken in the first 30 seconds,
and they came down with DA SPEED one point ahead of us in the end to win
33-32.
Not bad for a Sunday night's work! I just feel sorry for those who
have to play on Friday five whole days between two games can put you
into withdrawals...

(our_report) wow wow WOW, congrats on some GREAT games tonight
LOLers!!! These 2 games could hardly have been any closer, and both played
out the same with the LOLers leading most of the way by a smallish margin,
usually just one or two points, and the Sixers lucky enuf to pull it out
twice on the final cat, "Bloom County characters" in the 1st
game, and i think it was "Currencies" in the 2nd game, but i was
so hyped i really don't remember for certain. Congrats again, to both the
Sixers and the LOLers for great turnouts and great play on short notice,
and a special PHHHT! to bot, who seems determined to sabotage the Six-Pack
with those blasted Egyptian deities!! Get over it bolthead, they're DEAD!
sigh.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
When the game started there were four ratties against the world. We
saw category one go by and the rats didn't score a single point. We
were prepared for being smoked like driving on a deserted highway behind
an old van with 600,000 miles on it and a tank of bad gas... three
more rats straggled in after that first category.
Amd sometimes unexpected things happen, and somehow (I still don't know
how), we pulled out a win against the mighty rockers. It was
unlikely, unexpected, and quite a bit of fun. Larry Cucumber would be
proud.

whew, what a game...
Fourplay started off strong, ravashing the Raiders with their knowledge of
Male Country Music Performers and finished the game with American
rivers.
The second game was closer Raiders were strong with Barney Miller
characters and Fourplay answered back with states in India. The second
game eventually tied up after the Greek Gods category and went into
overtime. However, Fourplay lost in the next category, "Things in
space."
The third game was neck and neck and tense as the TalkCity ban approached
the East Coast and overtime was evident. After two overtime rounds,
Fourplay showed off their oh-so-wonderful eating habits by winning the
third game with Health Foods.

out to early leads in both games but the rats gnawed their way back each
game to take the win.

present....but if you have to play this kind of game, there's no better
team to play than the Wonders! We all had a lot of fun and losing
isn't so bad when it's against such a good group of people! Still
wish we had won....LOL!!!

(our_report) one awesome game tonight against fourplay.
the first game we got smoked like a bob marley doobie, 35-13.
in game 2 we maintained a small lead but fourplay tied it at 30 a piece.
we pulled it out in overtime 38-34. the third game was
even better with both teams trading the lead. it was tied at
30, tied 34, but fourplay pulled it out 39-38 in a game that went double
overtime and lasted over an hour. great game fourplay. |
