Sunday turned out to be a fine sunshiny day, and I walked over to Safeway to stock up on milk and cat food. In honor of the day, the store was handing out free samples of pizza, as well as deli soup and cake, so I'm not starving.I finally got a ride to the Hertz office this morning, and while I was there my insurance agent called me on my cel phone, and I handed her over to the rental agent to confirm the rental car could be billed directly to them. Now I have a Chevy Cavalier with unlimited mileage. Huzzah!
Then I confirmed with my dealer that I did not have to use their service department to protect my warranty, but could go ahead and use the repair shop that works with my insurance company. So I called the repair shop and they said to leave my car unlocked and the key behind the visor for the tow truck driver. Then this afternoon we had a safety meeting on vehicle theft, where two cops told us in the sternest possible terms never to leave our keys inside the vehicle, especially not hidden in such an obvious place as behind the visor.
Ah well, no harm done, apparently.
Today I went to Independent Records with a dozen CDs, most of them rap and hip-hop titles that I won from a Miller Lite contest, and got paid $45 for them. So I guess I'll make that trek every day until I get my car paid for.
In the mail today: A box of Odyssey nutrition bars, a little pen light with a clock built in, and a pair of Hanes tagless boxers. What a haul.
Driving my borrowed car today, I saw the most amazing thing: a large flock of those geese, flying in a lengthy extended V formation, which briefly rearranged itself to form the outline of a bird, like the stylized eagle logo of the United States Postal Service.
