Today, I took more CDs down to Independent Records to sell, and noticed that this Thursday after I get off work, they will have a live acoustic performance by Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven, both in town for a club gig later that evening. Woo hoo!Our credit union had its annual meeting this afternoon. They had a door prize drawing, for five prices of $20 cash apiece, and in spite of the terrific odds (only 16 of us were present), I managed not to win a single one. Well, at least I made up for it in free coffee mugs and cookies.
On the bright side, I came home and found I was the proud winner of a curling brush from Beersports.com.
After work, I stopped off at the store and bought a new belt, to go with my size 34 cargo jeans. My new reduced size was all the talk at the office, but I've needed a new belt for a long time; the last I got was an awkward in-between size that was all I could find in reversible belts at Target that day. I always buy one reversible belt, black on one side, brown on the other, and use that for all my outfits until it wears out. The frugal clothes horse.
Hey, my employer made the front page of the Financial Times today. We were still somewhat overshadowed by the Bush budget, which demonstrated that we now know, as Mark Frauenfelder once put it, what Sim City would be like with a chimp at the controls.
