For traveling between the US and the Philippines, nothing beats Philippine Airlines. I've used Philippine Airlines on all occasions except for when I was in the military and when flights weren't available. I'll provide some of my experiences after a brief history lesson.

A few months back (or maybe not that long ago -- heck, I don't remember), I mentioned very little about the local transportation here. Back in the eighties, when I was deployed here with the Marines, you didn't see nearly as many vehicles on the roads as today. Obviously, population growth played a big part in it. There's another factor that has affected this small city.

The Jeepney has been called the "Undisputed King of the Road," the symbol of Filipino creativity, innovativeness and ingenuity. True, perhaps in times past. Today, some will disagree at such attributions for the jeepney.
