Season Championship Race winners were crowned Saturday but only one class was able too name a Season Points Champion. Troy Gross won both his heat and finished runner up to Tadd Davis in the Championsip race too guarentee his top spot in the COMP4 Division Points. Curt Myers edged Troy Holder at the line for third and fourth with Geof Hagen fifth. Davis also won one heat and is in a very close four way points battle between the second through fith spot. Brandon Davis is second followed by Tadd, Chad Thomsen and Trent Gross. In the 6/8 Full Size Class Jarred Amundson did all he could do too try and wrap up the Points title by taking his second clean sweep, winning both his heats as well as the Championship race but a fifth place marker in the feature race by Don Cook was enough to deny Amunson the title. With 90 points possible per week, and Amundson 87 points ahead he only has to take one green flag on the day too win Points title, with Cook second only one point ahead of Jim Randall, Andy Cimfl ten behind Cook and Joe Rowan 37 back. The closest points battle comes in the Front Wheel Drive Division with Saturdays Season Campionship Race winner Steve Miller leading Tyler Viltz by 33 points. Viltz has a six point lead over Brad Doll with Championship Feature runner up Steve Hallquist fourth and Joel Hinrichs rounding out the top five. Behind Miller and Hallquist in the feature were Jarrod Amundson, subbing for Viltz, along with Mike Schnider and Kyle Johnson. In the first year of Powder Puff action there were thirteen women signed up for the Championship race with Missy Hallquist winning both her heat and feature. Points leader Cathy Roe won the other heat and finished second in the Championship race ahead of Sheila Cook, Debbie Cimfl and second time racer Kristi Baldwin. March 10th is the last week for ice racing and spectator admission is free and racing can be viewed from inside your vehicle in the plowed parking area around the track.
