| Richard left Wales for Australia in 1860 on the Lord Raglan arriving in Port Phillip on the 24th November 1860. The next sighting of Richard is in Stawell Victoria on his Wedding Day to Jessie Walters, 29th March 1869. Richard was a blacksmith in Stawell he had a business which he contracted to a number of people including the local shire. In 1871 Richard and Jessie owned premises at Wimmera Street, the rates of the time show that it had a nett annual valuation of 22 pounds. Richard brought his six children to Western Australia in the 1890's. Richard and Jessie had six children. She is buried with her brother in the Stawell Cemetery. |
