Introduction
From here you can access a sampler of photos of plants
that you may see in Ribera Norte, or which at least should be present
in the region. In most cases only the flower is shown. In the case
of some acuatic plants the leaves are shown.
Most - but not all - are native plants.
You may find these pages useful to you for identifying plant species.
Since most plants only flower in spring and summer, this is the time
of year when these pages will bo most useful to you. But some plants
do flower very late, in mid winter, while others start early next
spring, so there are always some plant species in flower.
The plant species show in this site are aranged in families.
More photos are being added every so often to this site, so please
come back for more!
Please consider that the plant names shown in
these pages are "tentative", ie,
not confirmed.
ALWAYS BEAR THIS IN MIND: Never cut flowers of native wild plants
since this - clearly - hinders reproduction.
Recent studies show that a full 50% of the plant species on this
planet are facing extinction.
Lets look after what there is still.
IMPORTANT:
Please consider that the plant
names shown in
these pages are "tentative",
ie, not confirmed.
Since some plants may
be toxic to humans, plase avoid using the identification information
given in these pages for
uses related to any form of human consumption.
