Enhancing and
Enriching the Project
Depending on the level of your students, you may want to add an extra challenge by assigning each group "living accomodations" - house or apartment.  The groups will then pretend that their "family" lives in this type of accomodation, and would take that into consideration when making their decisions.

If there is conflict within any of the groups when it comes time to decide on their "perfect pet", consider it an excellent opportunity to develop some conflict resolution skills.  Don't make decisions for the students, but coach them through a process of conflict resolution.

Providing pet store flyers for the children to look through during Step 7 of the
Process will enrich their learning experience.  You can support the Regina Humane Society's objectives by providing flyers from Petcetera and PetSmart.  These are the two pet stores that help us find homes for shelter pets, rather than selling puppies and kittens from unknown sources.

Depending on the group of students, you may want to have them run their plans for their presentation format past you, so that you may give your approval.

All resources needed to complete this project are linked directly from the WebQuest.  However, providing other materials within the classroom will enrich and enhance the project.  Pet care books and pet store flyers shouldn't be too difficult to locate and will allow for a more varied learning process.
