| Above......Railcar No 10 runs through the spectacular scenery of the Barnesmore Gap. The photograph is taken looking towards Donegal as the railcar descends from the summit at 592 ft (182m) above sea level towards Meenglas halt. The railcar has two open wagons in tow. | Above........No11 propels a wagon, which had been shunted from the train, into one of the sidings at Castlefinn to be unloaded by the recipients of the goods, complete with their donkey and cart on 22nd May 1956. Francis McMenamin is on the locomotive and Jim McMenamin at the wagon. Francis had amassed forty eight years service on the line by the closure. ColourRail |
