In his first career start, rookie Rex Grossman completed 13-of-30 yards for 157 yards. He didn't throw a touchdown, but he also avoided any turnovers while leading the Bears to an upset over the Vikings. :-Dec 15

Rex Grossman injured a finger yesterday. He will have it examined today to determine whether surgery will be required for a torn ligament, according to the Sun-Times. :-Dec 29

Rex Grossman indicated that his right middle finger remains in a splint but will not need surgery after he tore a tendon in the season finale, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Grossman is excited about the hiring of Lovie Smith, especially because Smith announced plans to bring a little bit of the Rams' high-flying offense to the Windy City. :-jan15
Scouting Reports
Wasn't productive as a junior, when he locked onto his primary receiver (usually Tyler Jacobs) and rushed too many throws. Like many Florida quarterbacks, he gets too much air under intermediate and deep passes. Got mixed reviews in Combine workouts, where he was trying to demonstrate his arm strength but sacrificed accuracy. Not a scrambler.:-Flaws
