Goku defeats the Garlic Jr gang that kidnapped Gohan.

Vegeta and Nappa depart for Earth. They destroy Planet Arlia on the way, and afterwards enter a cold sleep.

Gohan begins training with Piccolo. After falling into an underground desert ruin, Gohan meets an old style robot and enables him to open his heart.

Yamcha takes up a part time job as a baseball player.

Gohan gets homesick and runs away from his training. But he meets a group of orphans led by Pigero, and his courage returns.

Kuririn, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Chaozu and Yajirobe begin training at Kami's palace.

Goku arrives at Planet Kaio from Snake Way.

Goku catches Bubbles. Afterwards, he begins training to hit speedy Gregory with a hammer.

Goku successfully hits Gregory with a hammer.

Kuririn, Yamcha, Tenshinhan and Chaozu go on a time journey. They are completely defeated by the pair of Saiyans they meet there. They realize how inexperienced they are, and make the decision to undergo even more training.

Goku completes his training and is revived.

Vegeta and Nappa arrive on Earth.

Goku, Gohan, Kuririn and Piccolo battle with Vegeta and Nappa.

Piccolo, Tenshinhan, Chaozu and Yamcha die.

A very small spy robot insect collects cells from Goku and the others for Cell.

Goku and the others are admitted to North Metropolis hospital.
