The Task

Since every member of your research team has a different specialty you will be splitting up the work load. You will begin by looking at your fossil specimen and gathering some preliminary information. Then each scientist will focus on their specialty (One is an expert in relative dating techniques, one is an expert in absolute dating techniques, and the other is an expert in geological history.) to gather more information about their fossil. Finally, after your team has compiled all the necessary information, you will put it together a presentation. Be sure to include the fossil name, the relative age, a brief description as to how the relative age was found, the absolute age, a description of how the absolute age was found, the time period which this fossil existed, and a brief description of that time period.
