The Repomen album has it's official launch party on Thursday 30th November at West Street Live, Sheffield. Support comes in the shape of Tommy R Jones, Amber Eleven and The Headliners. And it's absolutely free!

If you pick up a copy of Sheffield based alternative music magazine Radio Coma you'll find a double page spread on the Repomen. Denzil and Ric discuss the recent split 7" and forthcoming long player.

The split seven has picked up a few more complementary reviews including one in November's Sandman plus from further a field in Italy and France. See links below for details. Plus there's a rather belated review of the Dietrich EP from Malta too!

The split seven is now officially launched. It's garnered a number of favourable reviews (see links below for a selection) and has just been made "Single of the Week" at Leed's based Norman Records.

Meanwhile you can now what the official video brought to you via Mr Feesh and Kostas Productions and shot using live footage for the Repo's gig with Little Man Tate at the Boardwalk back in February.

The band launched their brand new split seven inch single on Phantom Power Records at Bar Matrix, Sheffield, on Friday 20th of October. Playing alongside fellow splitsters Screaming Mimi the night also included sets from the wonderful Ormondroyd and solo artist Pete Green. Split 7 inch single featuring brand new Repo's track Trophy and Screaming Mimi's "Who is Louise?" will be released on new Sheffield label Phantom Power Records on Monday 23rd October. The Repos played along side Screaming Mimi, Balor Knights and Strange Sky Exit at a packed Boardwalk on September 9th. Much fun was had by all and top Sheff lenseman Andy Brown was there to capture the key moments. Click below to see some pictures from the night.

The band's gig at the legendary 100 Club in London supporting Little Man Tate and Coventry's Pint Shot Riot turned out to be a fantastic night. The sold out gig was packed from the start with the Repo's receiving a warm welcome from the crowd. A big thank you to Little Man Tate for inviting the band to support them. No gigs from the Repos for a while as they concentrate their activities on recording (see news item below). But the boys are back in live action in May and what a gig it is! Tuesday May 23rd sees the Repomen play with Little Man Tate at London's famous 100 Club. It's already sold out!

The band enter 2Fly Studios with the legendary Alan Smyth in May to record new song Trophy which will appear on a limited edition split 7" single with those dark cinematic theremin-tastic types, Screaming Mimi. More details to follow. The band are also considering to break with tradition and release an album towards the back end of 2006. It's likely to feature five or six brand new tracks and a selection of songs from the band's recent EPs.

Meanwhile, the band are now preparing to record follow up EP, EP7 and enter Yellow Arch Studios in March to record two new tracks A better day and Slaves.

Thanks to everyone who came down to the three gigs the band clocked up over the last three weeks. The Harley with Screaming Mimi and Pisco Sour Hour was a blast. The Balor Knights and The Scarlet Tuesday split single launch was a gas. But the icing on the cake was the sell-out crowd at the Boardwalk in support of the fantastic Little Man Tate. A quiet end to 2005 gig-wise will more than made up by two cracking shows early in 2006. Monday 30th January sees the band play a FREE gig at The Harley, Sheffield with two of Sheffield's other top alt-rockers, the ever wonderful Screaming Mimi and the dark and brooding Pisco Sour Hour. One, surely, not to miss.

And just when you think it couldn't get better how about this. The band have been invited to play with Little Man Tate (yes, the ex-Moon boys who are going to make it big big big in 2006) at their single launch at the Boardwalk on Friday 17th February, along with everyone's fave surf-rockers Chuck and new 'uns General Disarray. Thanks to everyone who came down to the recent Grapes gig with Screaming Mimi and The VCs. A top night was had by everybody. The band's gig at the This Ability charity gig at the Boardwalk was also a very enjoyable affair. Thanks to Jared of Know Your Onion promotions for inviting the band to play. The Repos had two songs videoed (She's in love/A different situation) by The Sheriff (of Arctic Monkeys fame) for a future 10 band, 20 song compilation DVD of the gig.

The Repomen have two dates lined up in November. On Thursday the 10th you can see them supporting Leeds indie-faves Four Day Hombre at The Grapes. Meanwhile on Tuesday 29th of November the band play the Burnout club night @ The DnR Live (f.k.a. Under The Boardwalk) in support of Mybe and Bison. Both gigs are £3 entry.

Denzil Repomen now has his own weekly internet radio show. Entitled "The Indie Hour", the show goes out on Sheffield Live on Mondays between 3-4pm. The show features the best of Sheffield Indie, a selection of national releases and some Indie/Alternative Golden Oldies. To listen live click the link below on Mondays between 3-4pm.

The October issue of Sandman has a full page article on the band. It charts the band's progress from their inception right up to the present day. It's accompanied by an excellent picture taken on the photo-shoot with Andy Brown. Pick up a free copy of the magazine at all major record shops and music venues in Sheffield to read the article.

The band played a last minute gig at the Casbah on Thursday 15th September along side fellow Sheffield band The Wanted and Leicester soundscapers Shortwave Fade. The Repos used the opportunity to play some very old songs (So unreal, Behind the mask) as well as trying out two new songs (She lies, A better day). The band have now confirmed three Sheffield shows spread over the next three months, see the Gigs page for more details of when and where.

Thursday 15th September proved to be a very busy night indeed. The band also slipped in a photo-shoot with Sandman's Andy Brown for a forthcoming feature in the October edition the Sheffield music magazine.

EP6 is now into the final production stages. The track listing/running order is confirmed as:

The band would like to thank everyone who came down to the Unsigned Showcase at the Sheffield Boardwalk last Tuesday where we had great fun playing with The Balor Knights, The Strangers and In Theory. The band took the chance to blood new song She Lies. The Repo's next live date is on Wednesday 19th October with the theromin-tastic Screaming Mimi at the Sheffield Grapes.

The band have also had the first radio play from up-coming single Dietrich on BBC Radio 6's Jane Gazzo's Dream Ticket show back in July. If you've not listened to Jane's show before check it out as it's tops. See link below for more details.

The band would like to thank everyone who came down to Sheffield Unsigned on 14th June and to Elie and Hayley for putting the gig on. It was a great night. Thanks too to the lovely Dangerlust for the use of their drums and bass amp. The band will be back in live action in mid-August with a few new songs. More details on the gigs page.

The band have been invited to play a Sheffield Unsigned gig at the Sheffield Corporation on Tuesday 14th June. Tickets are available in advance from the band at the price of £3. Also on the bill are ska punkers A is for Ape, top-draw rawkers Dangerlust and the delightfully named Bright Paper Werewolves. More details when we get them

The band have yet to set a release date for the new EP and will also shortly start work on a video for Dietrich.

The Repomen's gig at the Sheffield Grapes was a gas. Great sets from Commercial Dual Purpose and Balor Knights. Future EP6 lead track "Dead weight" sounded fantastic live with the Balor Brass (cheers Anna and Howard). Thanks to everyone who came down and made it a fun night.

The Repomen's interview with Alan Raw from the Raw Talent show before X-mas features on the CD given away free with Issue 2 of Thee SPC's Humbug Fanzine. It also features an article written by Denzil Repomen on Sheffield bands of yesteryear plus tracks by The Arctic Monkeys, The Scarlet Tuesday and 1984 . Snap 'em up at the bargain price of £2 (see link below). The 100 copies of issue 1 sold out - the print run's doubled to 200 but be quick!

After the highly successful support slot with Ari Up at the Boardwalk last month the band return to live action with a Grapes show on Tuesday 26th April. The acts confirmed on the bill are the excellent Balor Knights (whose brass section make a guest appearance on forthcoming EP6) and the equally excellent Commercial Dual Purpose featuring video maker Ren (who will be behind the lens for the Dead Weight video) a.k.a. Mr Feesh. Doors at 8pm. Advance tickets £1 - £2 on the door!

Happy New Year to you all. The Repos made a successful London debut last weekend at their first show of the New Year when they played at The Spitz (see pictures by Richard Mather left). Appearing along side the excellent Heist and Bikini Atoll (check out the links below) the band played to nigh on 150 people. A big thank you to the latter for the use of drum kit and to Olga S. and the Pennyblack Music team for organising the gig and being so nice to us.

Meanwhile the band return to live action back up in Sheffield on Wednesday 9th March as support to The Fuckwits and The Slits at the Boardwalk. Tickets from the band £5 - band on stage at 8.30.

The band are also delighted to announce that they will be going into the studio to record "Dead weight" and "A different situation" for EP6 in April at 2 Fly Studios. Expect a couple special guest appearances on the first track.

The Repos make their London debut at their first show of the New Year when they play at The Spitz. They appear at top indie web-retailer Pennyblack Music's showcase night on Saturday 22nd January on a four band bill that includes Lewd (LA punkers) and Heist (catchy pop sounds a la Pet Shop Boys).

Thanks to everybody who attended the previous three shows over the last month or so. They were a great success and thanks to all the bands (Ape Drape Escape, Little Glitches, Balor Knights, Existend, The Scarlet Tuesday and Dangerlust) for being a pleasure to play with. Three of the band were interviewed by Alan Raw for Raw Talent two weeks ago. They were on air for about 20 minutes in conversation in between Mr Raw spinning the lead three tracks from EP5. Hopefully we'll bring you a streaming of the broadcast in the near futures just in case you missed it.

Top notch Sheffield Independent Label Thee SPC have just launched the first of their special fanzines. It's available from their web site (see link below). It features an interview with Ric and Denzil and has a free CD featuring Repo track Stella, the video for Love me and songs by other such Sheffield luminaries including Ormondroyd, Chuck and Balor Knights. At £1.90 including P&P its an X-mas must have. Be quick - it's limited to a limited 100 run and it's selling like the proverbial hot cakes!

It's shaping up to be a top night at the Sheffield Grapes this coming Friday (3rd December). Four bands in one night for only £3. Playing along side the Repos at The Scarlet Tuesday's X-mas bash will also be the eclectic pop genius of the Balor Knights and top-draw rawkers Dangerlust. Doors open 8pm - be there sharpish to make sure you get in and don't miss any of the bands.

The multi-talented Mr Fresh a.k.a. Ren of The Laundrette and Commercial Dual Purpose fame has very kindly put together a video for EP5 fave "Love me" from live video footage filmed by James 'Ape' Bonsal at last Thursday's single launch. OK - so if the EP5 launch party was compared to that of a ship's maiden voyage, the bottle of champagne failed to break on the first swing, but hey - EP5 is now underway. The packed out launch party at The Grapes, Sheffield on 11th November paid witness to sets by the excellent and ever entertaining Ape Drape Escape and the hilariously talented Friends of Batman. If Denzil Repomen was in a state of shock prior to the band's set - the malfunction of the keyboards only only added to the sense of drama - the band finding themselves unable to play the EP's lead tracks "Out of here" and "Fold". But no matter - improvisation saved the day and the crowd were treated to a more punkier side of the band. Pictures to follow soon. Thanks to all those who came down and made it a special night.

It should prove to be a hot, sweaty and exciting night at Sheffield's most intimate live venue The Grapes this coming Thursday. Picked out by November's Sandman Magazine in their gig previews as one to watch, support comes from the ever entertaining Friends of Batman and arguably one of Sheffield's top live acts The Ape Drape Escape. The Repomen are grateful to the Ape Drape Escape for including one minute punk-popper "Love Me" on a free CD included with the second issue of their freebie fanzine. The band make their third live appearance of the year at one of their favourite venues when the appear second on the bill at the Sheffield Boardwalk on Tuesday 21st of September. Headlining the gig is the critically acclaimed Tommy Binks and the Alcoholics, while third on the bill is another Sheffield band, Boston Wood. Expect the Repo's on stage at 8.45ish. Tickets/door charge £3.50.

The band's fifth EP is now in the latter stages of production with drummer and graphic design wizz James Hughes currently in the process of finalising the artwork. More details about the final track listing etc can now be found in the newly revamped discography section (see the link below). There's also a link to an MP3 of "Love me" as way of a taster to the EP.

The band's third and fourth EP's have been given a glowing review on Weiv - a South Korean alternative web-zine. Although we can't actually read what they said the band get three and a half stars out of five. Repomen first came to the site's attention via the Sunset: False compilation LP. If you can translate Korean give us a shout.

Ric and Simon Repomen fit in a couple of acoustic appearances in July. You can catch them on Friday 2nd July at the re-arranged "Lazy Sunday" event at the Lescar Pub, Sheffield and then later in the month on Tuesday 27th of July at The Bedroom's weekly acoustic night on West Street, Sheffield.

EP5 is now mixed and sounding rather fine. The band's fifth EP will feature three brand new tracks recorded and mixed with Colin Eliott at Yellow Arch studies in May and June. Two acoustic numbers "Ships" and "Tomorrow" recorded in the band's home studio may also feature. More information about release dates etc when they are finalized.

Thanks to everyone who came down to the Boardwalk earlier this week. The band rattled through a 30 minute set in front of a generous crowd. Thanks also to fellow supporting act Dead Like Harry for the use of their gear!

The band now have their own page on the excellent MP3 Unsigned web site along with a growing number of other Sheffield bands. Two free MP3's are available - "Lights out" from EP1 and "Reel me cuber" from EP2. Another MP3 will be added soon.

EP5 started to take shape this weekend with the band recording three new tracks at the highly recommended Yellow Arch Studios, Sheffield with Colin Elliot (of Richard Hawley and Hoggboy fame). The band recorded Get me out of here (a quirky Devoesque number), Fold (Turkish song) which features Ric on lead vocals and punky minute wonder Love Me. The band will mix the tracks later in June and decide on a final running order. Expect a September/October release date.

Repomen's classic cut "Lauren Bacall" is now available in its entirety for free on the excellent new L2SB juke box. Click below to hear it. It's in good company along side tracks from Sheffield bands Rumpus and The Long Blondes. The song has also been getting air play on BBC North's Raw Talent Show.

Esmark's unofficial (but excellent) That Petrol Emotion website is featuring an exclusive free MP3 download of the boys covering Petrols fave Big Decision, taken from their Sheffield Boardwalk gig last year. John O'Neil was out of the building when the band covered it when they supported The Undertones....I wonder what he'll make of this version?

Congratulations go to Simon Repomen and Helen on the birth of their daughter Naomi. Weighing in at 9lbs 11oz, will life long Julian Cope/Teardrop Explodes fan Simon now suggest a cover of "Bouncing babies"?

The band played their last live set of the year supporting The Undertones on Saturday 20th December. The Casbah gig sold out and the band went down well with the sell-out crowd, rounding the year off nicely. Pictures from the gig to follow shortly. The set list was as follows:

The band would like to thank everyone who has supported them over the last twelve months and wish everybody a happy X-mas and successful New Year.

The Repomen will take a rest from performing live for a few months while they write and demo new material for EP5. Expect a return to live action in March/April time 2004.

At last, the band have had some professional photographs taken of them. They were out and about in town last Thursday with photographer Sue from Manchester. Shot in arty black and white by night, the results of the shoot will appear as soon as we have them.

The band have been invited by Ormondroyd to play an acoustic set at their "An evening with Ormondroyd" gig at The Lescar on Sunday, 7th December. The acoustic stage will run between 4 and 7 pm. See the band's web site for more details.

The band have picked up a couple of gig reviews. The first in the November issue of Sandman Magazine of the EP4 launch at the Grapes on Friday 10th October. We were left wondering if the reviewer actually went to the gig, but read the review and make your own mind up! The band's next gig is as support to The Undertones at the Casbah, Sheffield on Saturday December 20th, along with rotherham act Fights. Tickets available from the band. In the meantime the band are starting to demo for EP5.

A year ago the Repo's were the first Sheffield band to be featured on the then newly launched "Indie Sheffield" site. To celebrate it's birthday the site recently caught up with the band and interviewed them.

The Slow Noir compilation "Sunset: False" has started to pick up some favourable reviews - with the Repo's contribution 'Songs they never play on the radio' being singled out for particular praise.
