X-mas gig/Sound-Off2
Compilation
(Posted 31/10/01) The band are in the studio mixing the final two tracks for EP2 tomorrow - make sure you come along to the launch party which also features Lynam, a special music quiz and DJ Chrissey Woods between bands. The band feature on Sheffield Red Tape's 'Sound-Off2' compilation in the shape of 'She's in Love' along with other Sheff bands 'Special Agents', 'Lhasa', 'Less than zero' and 'Fumo'. News Round-up (Posted 16/10/01) Photos of last week's Nelson Mandela Building,Sheffield Hallam University gig taken by Matt Day are now up on line. Click here to view them. The band are in the studio recording this weekend putting the finishing touches to the new EP. The launch party takes place at the Boardwalk, Sheffield on Saturday 24th November. Doors open 8pm. The evening features not only the Repo's but the hotly tipped Lynam. The evening will also feature a pop/new wave quiz at 8.30pm. Advanced tickets are priced £2.50 or £3.00 on the door. Repomen back in action (again) (Posted 04/10/01) The Repomen
make it a gig a month til the end of the year. They play the Nelson
Mandela Building, Sheffield
Hallam University as part of their 'Plugged
Night' on Wednesday
10th October, doors from 7.30pm. Tickets are
£1.50 on the door. The night features two other bands (Chesterfield's
Mybe
and Transfusion)
with The Repos second on the bill and on stage at 8.45pm. From 10.30pm
til 2am, it's Voltage,
the Rock/Punk/Sk8 & Nu Metal disco.
Repomen back in action (Posted 28/09/01) The Repomen are back after a quiet Summer. The as yet untitled new EP will be out (hopefully) in time for the November 24th Sheffield Boardwalk gig. The band are due in the studio recording the two lead tracks 'Eyes on the road' and 'Reel me cuber' mid-October. Expect a warm-up gig sometime in towards the back end of October. A gig that has been confirmed is at Moriarty'sin Hull. The band play one of Hull's premier live venues on Saturday 1st of December - entrance is free! The band have recently been receiving air-play on French Independent Radio - 'Radio C' (95.1FM) based in Lens in the North of France, thanks to Emmanuel Stranadica.
Summer sabbatical for the Repomen (Posted 02/08/01) The Repomen will be lying low for the next month or so to write songs and preparing to record 'Reel me Cuba' and 'Eyes on the road' for their forthcoming second EP. The other two songs featuring on the EP, 'Stella' and 'Grey suits', are currently in the process of being re-mixed. Expect a November release date. Bar Abbey gig (Posted 10/06/01) Thanks to the
80 or so people who came down to the Bar Abbey gig last Friday which saw
the Repomen finish on stage with half of Lynam
for an encore of the Beatles' 'Revolution'.
And of course to Special Agent Geoff Russell
for his keyboarding on 'Stella'
and 'Grey Suits'.
News round-up/Boardwalk gig (Posted 22/05/01) A big thanks to everyone who came down to the Boardwalk gig last Saturday with Little Known Fact and Carousel Moon. The gig was a big success with the band playing to their biggest crowd in recent times (100 plus). The band have finished recording two new songs ('Stella' and 'Grey Suits') that will appear on their forthcoming EP. Sound samples to appear soon. Repomen plan second four-track CD single (Posted 30/04/01) The Repomen will shortly embark on the recording of the follow-up to their last CD single. More details can be found in the Discography Section.
Repomen play Bar Abbey with Lynam on June 8th (Posted 26/04/01) The Repomen dust themselves down and play a double-header with top Sheffield song-smiths Lynam (click here for their website) at Bar Abbey (click here for map) on Friday 8th June. The venue formally known as the Speakeasy can be found at 383 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield Doors open at 8.00pm - and to say thank you to everybody who's supported the two bands over the last year entrance is totally free!
Repomen play support to Hearsay this Tuesday @ Bar8 (April 10th) (Posted 05/04/01) That's the real Hearsay of course - not the pop pretenders who nicked the Sheffield band's name despite the fact they've been on the go for two years. The Repomen play Bar 8 supporting Hearsay this Tuesday, (April 10th). It's only £2 on the door with the Repo's on stage at 8.45pm. Repomen selected for compilation LP/ More Bar Abbey pictures (Posted 04/04/01) The Repomen have been selected along with a number of other Sheffield bands for Red Tape Studio's second Sound Off 2 CD, a compilation of local band and studio talent which will be distributed to the music industry nationally to showcase Sheffield talent. The CD includes the Repomen's 'She's in love'. Meanwhile there

'Lights out/She's in love' reviewed in Record Collector. (Posted 29/03/01) The Repomen have received a glowing review in this month's Record Collector (April Issue, no.260) in their 'Singles Bar'. The review is nothing short of excellent saying: "On this single,Gomez meet The Byrds meet The Buzzcocks (if such a hybrid could exist) and that's just the first track of this EP.......all of which makes this single as diverse as you could hope for from just one band. It's a very rewarding EP, so beg, borrow or steal it". Click here for full review.

Debut single into second pressing/ Second EP in the pipeline (Posted 15/03/01) After selling out of the initial pressing of 'Lights out'/'She's in love' the band have pressed up another run of their debut single - available through the web site and Pennyblack Music. The band are also in the throws of demo-ing songs for their as yet untitled second EP. Songs mooted for an appearance are live favourite 'Eyes on the Road' and 'Creme Brulee' which was debuted live at last month's Bar Abbey gig. Also likely to make an appearance on the EP are acoustic versions of 'Stella' and another as yet untitled song.
Radio 1 Airplay for the Repomen:

debut last week on the Steve Lamacq
show as part of his Thursday 'Session Unsigned'
spot. After a bit of chat about the band Lamacq played the first half of
EP's lead track 'Lights out'.

Live date @ Bar Abbey/Single review: (Posted 08/02/01) The RepoMen play Bar Abbey (the venue formally known as the Speakeasy), 383 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield (click here for map) on Friday 16th February. The strong three band bill includes two other top Sheffield bands Kinell and Lynam (click here for more Lynam info). Doors open at 8.00pm - first band on at 8.30 - tickets £1 on the door. February 10th live date off: (Posted 01/02/01) The Repomen's gig at the Grapes, Trippett Lane, Sheffield has been cancelled due to a change of management at the venue. The band apologizes for any inconvenience caused but sadly the decision to cancel the show was wholly out of their control.
First review of the new single: (Posted 10/1/01) The Repomen have had their first review of the new single 'Light's Out' / 'She's in love' courtesy of Pennyblack Music - the review will appear in the February issue of their monthly fanzine. For a sneak preview click here. Internet alternative record specialists Pennyblack are also stocking the single.
February live date for the Repomen: (Posted 05/1/01) The Repomen dust off the cobweb's and play their first gig of the new year in support of the debut single released late last year. Catch them on Saturday February the 10th at the Grapes Pub, Trippet Lane Sheffield. Support to be confirmed. Entrance £2 on the door.
Happy X-mas from the Repomen: (Posted 22/12/00) The Repomen's debut single has nearly sold out its initial pressing and the band are planning to repress it earlier in the new year. The band are planning some new shows early in the new year to promote the single so watch this space. All that's left
to do is to wish you all a very merry X-mas and happy new year!

Repomen to play the Grapes, Trippet lane: (Posted 30/10/00) The Repomen play their first show since July 2000's Casbah appearance upstairs at the Grapes pub on Trippets Lane in Sheffield on Tuesday 21st November (this is a date change from the originally mooted date of Thursday 16th November). Doors open at 8.30pm with the band on stage at 9.45pm. Support is yet to be confirmed, but the band promise an interesting action-packed and lively show. While the band may not have their debut single released in time live versions of songs will be showcased amongst other new material. Price is £2 on the door.
Band put finishing touches to debut CD single: (Posted 27/10/00) The band have now completed the recording
of their debut 4-track double A-sided CD single. It features the A sides
of 'Lights Out' and 'She's
in Love' backed with two live acoustic recordings which have yet
to be finally mixed. The band are looking to release the single on their
