Rallysprint Campdev�nol - 19th of June 2004

After weeks of preparation and training, the Campedev�nol rallysprint would be the first ever rally for Ren� and Jordi. And what a day it would be.

During the morning it was already clear that rain would be falling, as the area around Camdev�nol was surrounded by dark skies. After having finished the pacenote session, all 58 cars joined in the parque ferm�. From that moment, rain would fall.

SS A1, Coll de Merola:
The first stage ended up as one to be remembered for a long time. In heavy rain conditions, Ren� and Jordi proved to have great pace. They finished in 6th position overall, and 2nd in the class! A great result for the first stage ever!

SS B1, Alpens:
With the rain still coming out of the sky, this slightly faster stage went well again. Clearly not as good as that first flying stage, also because the faster turns proved to be rather risky and experience was zero. But both men could be satisfied: 15th overall and 4th in the class.

SS A1, Coll de Merola:
Again this stage proved to be their favourite. Having done it once already, now it went even faster, and the best stage result of the day was the result: an impressive 4th overall time, and again 2nd in the class!

SS B2, Alpens:
Now the main objective was to take the car home in one piece. It all went so well, that it would be such a shame to throw it away in the last stage. After a near escape and contact with the barrier, Ren� decided to slightly drop the pace. They finished in a solid 11th overall position, and 4th in the class.

The overall result in the Rallysprint Campdev�nol was a fantastic 5th overall position. In the class a 2nd place was reached. What a motivating result for the next races!
