After some years of kart-racing, in 2004 he made the jump to rally-racing. After three years of racing in the Open Catalunya, with many ups and downs, he is taking a break in 2007. We hope to anounce a new project in racing soon!

20th May 2006: Ren� flies in Open Catalunya !

Maximum emotion during the first rally in the Open Catalan Rally Championship, where Marc Esteban, with a Volkswagen Golf GTI, took the first initiative in the ranking after the first stage, followed by Oriol Campanera with his new Citro�n Saxo and Ren� Waare, also with a Citro�n Saxo.
On the second stage of the day, Campanera took the leed from Esteban and positioned himself on top with just 2 seconds advantage. Waare kept on doing his homework correctly on the Capsacosta stage and remained placed third at 9 seconds from the leader. Roger Selva, with a Peugeot 106, took fourth at 27 seconds.
When the evening set in, the star stage started: Gombren, almost 19 km. Ren� Waare made a very strong run against the time to set fastest time and cut the gap between him and the leader. Esteban again took the lead in the ranking, although by only 2 seconds from Campanera and now 4 seconds from Waare, leaving all the emotion for the final stage in Alpens.
Oriol Campanera started the stage on the limit to try and cut the 2 seconds that were separating him from Marc Esteban, but the pressure resulted in a crash which took him out of the race. Esteban also knew that he could not rest for a single moment, and atacked to try and increase the small gap between him and his rivals, but one of the corners that were full of gravel made him spin and loose precious time.
Finally, Ren� took his second scratch of the day and the victory in the first race of the Open Catalunya. He was followed by Marc Esteban at 20 seconds in second place and by Roger Selva in third place by 41 seconds. In the junior trophy, Jordi Vicens made a sensacional appearance by winning with a Opel Corsa GSI.

4th November 2005: Crash ends title chances for Ren� and Joan
A problematic morning in the Girones Rally ended dramatically for the team when the Saxo crashed straight into an unforgiving wall half way through stage one. Due to engine troubles in the morning, the pacenotes had to be taken in a rush and were therefore not trustworthy enough. The car locked brakes turning into a very slippery right hander and just went straight on. It ones more proves that preparation and pacenotes are so critical in this sport, were even the slightest mistake can be deciding. But when you fight for that so important fastest time, one knows it can happen! All in all, a difficult day. It brings this season to an early end.

15th October 2005: Great pace but no reward
With fantastic times and spectacular driving Ren� and Joan had an emotional 2000 Curves rally today. All seemed to go smooth and in the second stage scratch was set! But because of an error in stage three, a lot of time was lost again. After six hard stages, the final result was a 6th place overall and 4th the in the class. All in all, a motivating result!

2nd October 2005: Great first full rally with a new car!
Ren� and Joan have made a great debut this weekend in the Criterium del Valles Rally with the new car, a Citro�n Saxo VTS. Although the team had quite some small technical problems, the stages went surprisingly well, and several fastest class times came out as a result. After 12 tough stages, the final result was a 23rd overall position, and in the class the podium was reached with 2nd place.

18th June 2005: Bad luck for Ren� and Joan
Today the second race of the season in the surroundings of Ripoll ended up rather dissapointing for the team. After a good start with second best class time on the 1st stage, engine problems slowed down Ren� and Joan on the 2nd stage. An effort was made during service time to get going again, but the problems were engine related. A great pity, because a lot of important points were up for grab. Apart from heavy understeer, the car was performing fine on race speed. Now all hopes are focused on next months rally, 3 weeks from today.

14th May 2005: Back on the road for the 2005 season!
Last Saturday finally saw the start of the season for the Open Catalan Championship. With his new navigator, Joan Moreno, Ren� was looking forward to make a good, solid first rally. On the very fast stages of this rally, the car proved to be highly competitive. After all the pre-season preparations, the final result would be a great reward. Both men managed to bring the car home in 5th overall position, and 1st place was reached in the class! A great start of the season! Next race will be within a month from now, at the 18th of June.

23rd December 2004: In 2005 again Catalan Open and Hyundai Getz Challenge
Recently the Catalan Federation of Motorsports renounced that next year the Open Catalan Championship will be on the calendar again. Furthermore, a new, promising Challenge will be organised within this Championship: the Hyundai Getz Challenge. All cars will be equally prepared, and engines are not to be modified. That makes it an extremely interesting option for young, ambitious drivers, like Ren�.

19th December 2004: Making it to the finish is no easy job!
Although many small problems did make it hard to reach the finish of today's race, Ren� and Jordi managed to take the car home. Clutch and engine failures ment that there was no use in finding good final results though. A pity, because trouble-free stage times were satisfying again.

27th November 2004: An early exit for Ren� and Jordi
Saturdays rally went up in smoke when Ren� and Jordi went of the road in the first stage of the rally. In a pretty tight left-hander the car started to slide too heavily under braking, and ended up alongside the road. Unfortunately, both men could not get back in the race, as it was impossible to push the car away. Unfortunate indeed, as the damage was not severe and pace seemed to be great again. Focus is now on next months rally, just before Christmas!

15th October 2004: This months rally cancelled
Last week it was anounced that the rally that was planned for the end of October, has been cancelled. Due to organisational problems linked with the World Championship rally in Catalonia, also end of October, the federation has decided not to run the rally. It is not clear if another date will be anounced.

24th July 2004: Good race, disappointing end
A complicated rally in the Vall�s area today had a rather disappointing end when the team was not able to leave the service area in time and was penalised with 60 seconds. Although overall performance had been good, Ren� and Jordi dropped back to 22nd position, and 6th in class 1.

19th June 2004: Great first race for Ren� and Jordi!
With a surprising performance Ren� and Jordi made their debut in the Open Catalan Championship today. Rain hit the Campdev�nol surroundings, and that proved to be the deciding factor for a solid 5th overall position. In class 1 the podium was reached!
