Body "heat"
- The concept of body "heat" and "cold" can be traced back to early European culture as well as ideas from the east such as India. Heat now clinically refers to increased metabolism, and cold refers to reduced matabolism, not to temperature. Thus, ginger contains a compound that increases your metabolism, while cucumber reduces it.
- Some "hot" foods: mango, ginger
- Some "cold" foods: cucumber, lemon, yogurt
- A balance of hot and cold and neutral foods keeps the metabolism constant.
- To remove body heat: Boil jeera with water and drink.
- In hot summer, reduce eating mace and nutmeg (can lead to nosebleed)
