Headache
- For sun-headaches: Mix a bit of lime juice and ginger paste in warm water. Drink.
- Lemon balm for headache
- For migraine: feverfew. Takes several weeks to work. Label should state it contains 0.2% parthenolide (active ingredient). Interacts with blood thinners, so tell doctor you're taking it, may need blood testing to make sure your blood is not too thick or thin.
- Potential migraine triggers include coffee, chocolate, sulfur-containing products (cabbage), dairy foods. Remove all, then introduce one by one to see which causes the migraine.
- Have someone give you a head and neck massage, concentrating on temples, forehead, and the area just behind ears.
- Have someone give you a hand massage, or press between forefinger and thumb firmly and steadily.
- place one finger on each side of your nose and press down
gently for about 20 seconds
- a cold, icy washcloth on head helps when going to bed. this is useful for migraines as well.
- For a migraine attack, try: chewing 1200-1600mg of calcium, a cup of coffee (though a trigger, it helps some people), a cold compress, lying down and getting a head massage. Try each and see what works best for you.
- For the headache, raw potato slices and coffee
grounds with a rag tied around your forehead.
