How to wear a tshirt #19
This time, it's winter, and as gifts pile up (or just to keep your feet warm), why not make a set of tee-stockings?
Materials:
t-shirt
double-sided tape OR needle and thread
fabric paint
fake fur (optional)
1. Use a pattern like the ones here or draw your own based on a sock you have.
2. Lay your tshirt flat, trace the outline of the pattern, and cut through BOTH layers to get two identical pieces. (if you want to make 2 socks, trace two patterns onto the tee and cut them both out)
3. Sew or tape-iron the pieces together, right sides together (inside), leaving about 2 inches at the top.
4. Turn the sock inside out, and fold down the extra on the outside.
5. Cut out flowers or interesting leaves and patterns out of the tshirt scraps. Affix them to the sock by sewing, with the iron-on-tape, or glue.
6. Decorate your stocking with the fabric paint and finally, trim the folded part with fake fur.
7. Hang on a mantel or keep your feet toasty around the house!
